Greetings!

Is it just me, or does It feel like someone pressed a button and the past few months went by in fast-forward? I would swear that is was just the beginning of March a couple of days ago. That's life I guess - you have to pay attention, or it will get the jump on you! As a tourist-based resort area, our national economic "slow down" (are they finally using the word "recession" yet?) has effected us along with the rest of the country, but even though this season saw a few more closed stores and more breathing room than normal in many hotels and restaurants, there has still been a lot happening in our area. After months of preparation, the women's Dinah Shore Weekend and the guy's White Party festivities have come and gone with their annual events, and Spring Break pool parties and cool afternoon temp's have given way to summer vacation planning and 90-100 degree heat, all in what seems like the blink of an eye.

The arrival of May heralds the beginning of our slower season here. I can't say I look forward with great joy to the arrival of summer, but I must admit that it has been nice to have a little break over the past couple of weeks as things have started slowing down. Life has hardly ground down to a complete halt, however - there are still a variety of events coming up in the next month to look forward to. Info on our monthly L Spot Women's Mixer is below, along with "Upcoming Events" listings. Scroll further down for the "Ongoing Events, Groups and Clubs" listings - there are lots of opportunities to get out, meet some new people and have some fun.

Wishing everyone a happy May!

Your friend and L Spot Editor,

Marnie Hesson

The goal of the L Spot web site is to help bring the women's community together by providing a place where women can find information about lesbian life here in the desert, and also to provide a venue where you can advertise your groups, teams, events, business - whatever you have going on for women in the area. Thanks to you all, it's working! Through our monthly newsletter, we can spread the word to more women about what we have to offer. Please take a minute to forward this to your friends that arent on our mailing list so they can get in on the action. And keep us posted with whats going on! By working together, we can create a more fun and full life for lesbians here in our beautiful desert home.
