Chamber collaborates with WIB to create new jobs
The Chamber is
partnering with the Workforce Investment Board to develop jobs for youth
between the ages of 15 and 21. The program is targeted at young people who are
having a difficult time in the traditional school setting. We are looking for
employers who can provide mentoring and guidance to the young people. It is our
hope that through these jobs, the young people will move away from a propensity
to become involved in gangs and become enthused about their prospects for a
successful life. The WIB program will
fund the full salary of the youth for the first 3 months of employment and half
the salary for the next 3 months. The jobs will pay $8/hr and can be either
full time or part time jobs. This is a chance for employers to make a real
difference in a young persons' life. Contact me at steve@sbchamber.org if you would like to participate or if you have
questions. Chamber creates new program "Business@Chamber We know how tough it is to
succeed as a small business. There is never enough time. There's no one to
help. That's why we created the "Business@Chamber"
program. Joining or renewing your
membership in the Chamber of Commerce gives you FREE and IMMEDIATE access to
the leading business consultants in our community. When you need advice, we are
there to help. It's like your own business school, individual education from 20

consultation with each of our experts, it would cost you more than $2,000.00. As a member of the Chamber,
these services are FREE. Business @ The Chamber brings you together with skilled business people
contracted to provide a free hour-long consultation to answer your questions
and solve your business issues. Our coupon program, valid for one year after joining, is valued at $2000
