What is it like to work on the crew of a MacGillivray Freeman IMAX® movie and win the Giant Screen Cinema Award for Best Cinematography?  Michael Brown will be presenting a behind the scenes slide & video show at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science just after a screening of 'The Alps' IMAX®. Most of the action in the story is on the dreaded north face of the Eiger. Make sure to say hello; Michael will have a stack of IMAX film frames that didn't make the show. They came from a roll that    broke in the extreme cold of shooting in the Swiss Alps in winter.

In March, Serac Adventure Films' David D'Angelo was in Alaska shooting the famous Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race.  Armed with a specially equiped Sno-Go fitted to safely carry a camera and tripod, he rode the entire 1049 miles from Willow to Nome shooting footage while on the trail.

Michael Brown in Greenland with James Balog and the Extreme Ice Survey. Michael describes, "It was a privilege to work with James (along with his crew of Jeff Orlowski and Adam Le Winter) and see photography through his eyes. There is also a sublime quality to ice bergs at 35 below. Unlike summer, when there is a thin sheen of liquid melt water, the ice is frozen and it takes on a pearl like luster. Skiing out in the now snow covered fjords and being able to reach out and touch, even climb, the bergs was like being on another planet." Extreme Ice Survey

Contest and Prizes
This month we are giving away a DVD of our award winning film '3 Peaks 3 Weeks' to the person that guesses correctly (or near enough) the amount of foreign currency in the jar.  We travel internationally alot and come home with crisp bank notes and various coins still in our pockets.  In the jar there is currency from Tanzania, China, England, Switzerland, Thailand and New Zealand.  Since the money is no good for spending here we thought we'd have a bit of fun with it.
First, take a look at the pictures of the jar and make your best guess in American dollars.  Hint:  Its in the range of $2-$122 U.S dollars.  Next, click on the link to enter your guess. Good luck!
