Spring is Near in Longview, WA
Greetings!
Spring is almost here and things are already bursting forth at Highlander Cycling! We expanded the shop with an additional 1,500 sq. ft. and the new Service Center is now open for business!
Scott is happy to have his own space dedicated to our customer's service and repair needs; Brian led our first group ride this Saturday on a 20 mile ride in absolutely gorgeous weather; and I'm enjoying meeting many new people, learning what you want from your bicycle shop and connecting with the local community.
We are always working on our product line and have several new Kona models in stock including the Sutra...an excellent touring bike, and the Hula, a mountain bike designed specifically for kids 8 or 9 to around 12. I'm also happy to announce that next week we will bring in a nice line of Schwinn bicycles. The Schwinn models will include cruisers, comfort bikes and a few road and mountain bikes. HAPPY CUSTOMERS!
Getting a new bike is one of life's happy moments, and it is such an honor to be able to share these moments with our customers! With their permission, we get to share with you!
Monty found his new high-end Felt road bike after working with Brian on the exact specs he wanted. The Felt AR5 road racer has a full carbon frame, top of the line components, Ultegra brakes and weighs a lighter-than-light 17 pounds. Monty regularly competes in dirt bike and mountain bike races and was looking for the perfect road bike to train for his sports. He let us know that he is very happy with his new Felt. Monty and his Wife Ann come to the shop often and we are always so happy to see them walk through the door!
Wendy was looking for a comfortable cruiser to ride with her husband Jeff and their three boys, Brice, Ethan and Ely. They enjoy five to ten mile rides around town and at Sacajawea park in Longview. The Manhattan Flyer comes equipped with a rear rack, fenders, 6 speeds and a comfy saddle. It's the perfect bike for Wendy and her family! We are hoping that Wendy, Jeff and the boys will join us for a family fun group ride this month!
Lucas and his parents, Mike and Roxanne came into the shop to see what Highlander had to offer. Mike is an avid mountain cyclist and the whole family enjoys riding. Lucas spotted the Kona Hula with 24" wheels, disc brakes, 24 speeds, 3" of travel and he knew that this was the bike for him. They went home, worked out a plan and the next day Lucas, Mike and Roxanne were out on the trails with Lucas on his new Hula. Last I saw...Lucas was popping wheelies outside of Highlander Cycling!

NEW SERVICE CENTER AT HIGHLANDER!
The shop is bigger this month! We have another 1,500 square feet in the back of the store with back door access and an upstairs area too. Last week, we busted through the wall and created a doorway. Then the work began with cleaning and painting the floors and walls and moving the Service Department to its new home.
Scott already has everything organized and ready to roll. Next time your in, feel free to walk on back and take a look around...bring your bike in for a tune-up while you're at it. With Scott's commitment to quality and his 25 years of technical experience working on bikes of any brand or model, you can rest assured that after you pick it up from the shop, your bike will ride better than ever before - guaranteed!

 MARCH GROUP RIDES
ROAD RIDES:
Saturday, March 13 @ 10:00 a.m. Brian will lead a 20 mile flat road beginner ride which will begin and end at the shop. After the initial 20 miles if anyone wants to go for more...it will be available!
Wednesday, March 17 and March 24 @ 5:00 p.m. Brian will lead a 20 mile ride. The first ride will be on flat road and the group will determine how the rides will go from there. Begins and ends at Highlander Cycling.
FAMILY FUN RIDES
Saturday, March 20 and 27 @ 9:00 a.m. Scott and Janice will lead riders of all ages and skill levels on a fun ride around Lake Sacajawea. This is a great time to get outside, bring the kids if you have them, your cruisers, mountain or road bikes and get to know your fellow cyclists. We are looking forward to these rides and to bringing our kids, Adin-8 and Brooklynn-10 out with us!
