Colleges/Universities Coming to Servite
Don't miss out on this great opportunity!
The Servite Counseling Office is always looking for ways to make connections with a number of colleges/universities that will allow our students more opportunities to learn about various institutions. One way to do that is to open up our campus to individual college visits. Throughout the fall each year, the students are able to meet with admissions representatives from different colleges/universities from across the country. Students who are interested in attending these college information sessions are required to SIGN-UP THROUGH NAVIANCE. To see which colleges/universities will be on campus please visit the Servite Website and look at the calendar under the "Academics Home Page" or click here to see the schedule!
This week on campus:
University of Washington, Tacoma
Hillsdale College
Boston College
Chapman University
Next Week:
High Point University
The University of Alabama
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical

If there are any parents who have questions or want their information confidential please email rbarrera@servitehs.org or gmasterson@servitehs.org no later than September 24th. Spotlight on our Staff!
Chris Stewart, History Teacher
Here at Servite we have so many wonderful staff members who not only go above and beyond in the classroom, but also do wonderful things outside the classroom. We are going to do the best job we can to highlight these achievements, and we can't wait to share it all with our readers!
Now, onto our first amazing staff member to be highlighted: History Teacher, Miss Chris Stewart! Chris has MANY lifetime accomplishments, and we are going to highlight a few of them! She has been a mainstay at Servite for twenty-eight years, having taught both English and History, with positive reviews.
Chris has had an active music ministry for many years. She plays guitar and sings, leading praise and worship at Mass, in prayer groups, and for days of teaching and reflection. An avid traveler, she most recently went for the first time to South America. En route to Iguazu Falls, including the Argentinian and Brazilian sides, one of the stops was in Lima. Just to show how impactful teachers can be, she was able to reconnect with her 7th Grade teacher while on this trip! Sr. Mary Jo Delany is a Holy Cross Sister (CSC) and has been in Lima for twenty years. It was a happy reunion: Chris had not seen her since grade school, but says she is thriving. Just goes to show our teachers remain interested in our lives! In Peru Chris visited Machu Picchu and Cusco, among other stops; in Ecuador she toured Quito, the Galapagos Islands and then Guayaquil. Whew! Chris was quite the traveler this summer! Can you believe she has visited all but ONE continent? Amazing! But wait! This just in: she is going to Antarctica over Christmas break! Apparently Chris is quite the photographer as well. During her travels she snapped a great shot of sea lions and birds at the Ballestas Islands, and this photo appeared in last Sunday's Orange County Register Travel section 'Photo of the Week'! Check it out below.... As if Miss Stewart didn't have enough going on in her busy life, she has also written a great children's book, The Adventures of Sprinkler Dog! If you would like more information on purchasing the book, feel free to contact Miss Stewart at cstewart@servitehs.org!

Thank you for all you do here at Servite, Miss Stewart. We can't wait to follow your future travels and great accomplishments!
