As approach the final stretch and prepare to bid farewell to 2010, a year marked with the promise of recovery along with harsh reminders of the recession that left a wake of economic destruction we'll be reeling from for some time to come, it is essential to remember that it is also a time to celebrate. Surviving the turmoil is no assurance of your future success (read from Marshal Goldsmith below) - but you deserve to celebrate the success you achieved and to appreciate the people in our lives - without whom that success would have been impossible - and, of course, those in our lives who help us realize meaning from what we achieve. Malcom Gladwell noted in his book Outliers - that "No one -- not rock stars, not professional athletes, not software billionaires, not even geniuses -- ever makes it alone."
