About Us

Atlanta Photography Group Gallery

APG's primary goal is to promote and support contemporary photography as a significant art form. It seeks to challenge photographic conventions, stimulate new thinking and exploration of experimental forms of photographic expression.

These goals are supported through a wide range of activities that are overseen by a Board of Directors, an Advisory Board and a Curatorial Panel drawn from the Atlanta photographic community.

The Atlanta Photography Group (APG) is an artist-initiated 501(c)(3) nonprofit membership organization.

It's that time of year again!

With August almost behind us, October is just around the corner. And while October brings the hope of cooler weather, it also brings the city's coolest city-wide event for photographers! (Get it? "Cooler." "Coolest.") I'm sure we don't have to tell you about "Atlanta Celebrates Photography." Have you secured a venue yet so you can be part of the action? Were you one of the lucky few to get into the Airport Show? If not, not to worry! You still have another chance to
show your work by entering the Anna Skillman Selects Show. Only 2 1/2 weeks until the deadline, but still plenty of time to get your work framed and drop it at the gallery!

Need more incentive? Did we mention the cash awards?? Yes, promotion during ACP, an Anna Skillman show listing in your exhibitions, AND cash awards! What's not to like? So print out the entry form HERE and frame up your best shots! Or visit our friends at Digital Arts and have them frame your shots with one of their discounted framing packages designed specifically for photographers. Here's all the info you need.....

Join the APG 25th Anniversary Committee

In 2012 Atlanta Photography Group will celebrate 25 years as a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization.
Many of our loyal members remember the early days of APG; spawning from Nexus, meeting in homes and acquiring various gallery spaces.
Our legacy deserves to be preserved and we need YOUR help over the next few months. Please consider joining "APG 25th Anniversary Committee" which is forming now.  We need volunteers to go through our paper archives, gather stories and photos, plan events, etc.
If you have photos or a story you would like to share, please gather them now. As the committee forms we can decide how this will come together.
Whether you have been an APG member for twenty-four and a half years or have recently joined, we need your help and hope you will choose to  get involved during this historic time.
Please respond with interest to Polly Barr.
