 PEP Talk! TV

We are still in the studio cranking out the last 4 pepisodes in Season 1 so stay tuned for those.

Since the launch of PEP Talk!, I have been invited to do many interviews, both on radio and television.

Last Friday, I was a guest on the award winning Ed Brown Show where I got to speak briefly about PEP Talk! and a lot about Jamaica.

Please take a watch and provide feedback if you feel so inclined.

"Massive job on the Ed Brown Show, Rosie.  You are indeed beautiful in every way and represented Jamaica very well."

GYAD IMHOTEP, JAMAICA

"The interview on the Ed Brown show was phenomenal. U need to send the link to Jamaica Tourist Board so u can be a spokesperson. I forgot aboutt the many types of mangoes, LOL!!! And, my husband, Jermaine was just thrilled to be educated. I was writing to say I'm honored that we are friends."

RACQUEL BROWN-GASTON, MARYLAND

"PEP Talk! is definitely a program I look forward to watching with the entire family.  It is so refreshing to see ordinary people speaking about their community service."    JULIA BAPTISTE, BARBADOS

When you enter the site, click on the "LISTEN LIVE" button and hear us spread some love to everyone out there!

Our guests this evening will be June Cole (a backup singer, and artist in her own right) and  Veronica Ruth Majsiak (a woman with an amazing story).

June Cole at WWT, 3/26/11

June Cole is a member of LMJ - a trio that burst on the scene in 1997 with the King Jammys remake of En Vogue's 'Don't Let Go.' The group has been featured on quite a few shows including 2004 Fireworks on the Water Front, Macka Diamonds Mothers and Daughters, Western Consciousness, St. Mary Mi Come From, Sumfest and Vizion Sounds/First Born 10th Anniversary Celebrations in Guyana.  June Cole has a sultry tone which compliments any song that she lends her vocals to. She is known as the bassist of the group. This gives depth to their harmonies, creating a well rounded sound which LMJ is presently known for. Performing at home and abroad, June has toured with well known artists like Black Uhuru, Jimmy Riley, Junior Kelly, Richie Spice and others.  June has several songs in rotation and is on the path to becoming a solo act.

Veronica Ruth Majsiak's

heart stopped twice.

She is still alive and well and will share her story with us on PEP Talk! Radio tonight.

Apart from being a painter, she is also a community advocate and goes on many mission trips to help those who are less fortunate.

Fresh from celebrating Women Walking Tall, I am still on a high but in cool down mode.  Many who attended the standing room only event are still re-living it and many who could not attend are living vicariously through us.  I cannot thank my sponsors, performers, attendees, and RAS Lounge enough but I keep trying!  I promised that the event would be beautiful, upful, memorable, and historic and I did not lie.  If you do not want to take MY word for it, check out some of the comments below. wwwtrock

"The entire event was beautiful from start to finish. I am still enjoying it in my mind."

"Is there another Women Walking Tall event this Saturday?  I want more."  Dolly Riley

"Peppy, thank you so much for putting on this event.  My wife had been talking about it nonstop, and when she came home on Saturday, she was VERY nice to me because she had such a great time." Chuck Barry, DC

"Big Up to all the Women Walking Tall...what an evening to remember!!! Much Love and Respect...♥." Veronica Ruth Majsiak

At the event, the first 30 women were presented with a gift bag or a rose and unlike many events, WWT actually started on time. Throughout the night there were giveaways courtesy of the sponsors.

The patrons also enjoyed the ambiance of RAS Lounge and the tasty Afro-Caribbean buffet that was presented.  The event was hosted by me and Naima Jahmaal who was also a featured performer.  Apart from the many talented women who were advertised to be on the show, many others came through and blessed the mic.

"I had a wonderful time @ Women Walking Tall....even though mi short. Thanks to the beautiful women for their stories, how brave and how tall!"

The photos will tell you the story (somewhat) but it was just one of those events that left many with a feeling of euphoria.

Ayanna Gregory attended the event and was so inspired, she could not leave without blessing us with a song.

The event attracted babies to baby boomers, and the young men and women were visibly having fun in a wholesome and informative environment. One young man remarked "Ms. Rosie, this was a very nice event and all the ladies looked very sexy and beautiful. When are you having another one?"  I had to smile.  The two young ladies below had tons of fun and they insisted that they want to help with next year's event. We are humbled to be the producers of such an amazing event, so mark your calendars for the last Saturday in March 2012.

We love when the young ladies share in a positive event

One of the highlights of the evening was the LIVE painting by Ms. Reshada Pullen.  At the end of the night, the painting was "sold" for $400.  We are still accepting bids so please email reshadap@gmail.com or me at info@peppypromotions.com if you would like to place a bid.  Bids close on April 7, and FYI - the painting is valued at $1500.

"I enjoyed Women Walking Tall to the max.

Big up to all the wonderful women who performed and all the beautiful people who came out.  Nuff respect to Rosie Peppy Parke and Peppy Entertainment & Promotions for having me share in such a lovely event!"  Ruth

As we come to the close of Women's History month, let us not forget all the wonderful women who paved the way for us to do great work on this Earth.  As the theme this year says, "Our History is Our Strength."

Enjoy this last day of March and welcome to April - the month in which we will all do our best to protect our children from abuse and neglect.

SAVE DC CARNIVAL

"...As we have shared before, DC CARNIVAL 2010, although a success in many aspects, has created some major financial challenges for us to move forward with 2011 plans. DCCC has been directly affected by the financial uncertainty in the District of Columbia which resulted in the rescinding of our primary source of funding in December 2009. At that time, too many commitments were already contracted and DCCC, with your support, cautiously moved forward with plans for 2010.

We continued to engage the City, via the prior Fenty Administration and the current Gray Administration for assistance in addressing the outstanding 2010 debts but we have been unsuccessful to date. We have been put on notice by the DC Metropolitan Police (MPD) that we cannot move forward with any plans for DC Carnival 2011 until the outstanding $54,782.45 debt due to MPD and $61,473.28 debt due to the DC Department of Public Works for 2010 is satisfied."  Loughton Sargeant
