 I am so happy that the "most wonderful time of the year" is inching up on me. I absolutely LOVE Christmas-time and look forward to everything it represents for me and my family: a time to be with each other, exchange gifts, cook together, play games, look at old photos, and just celebrate each other and the season. With all that has been going on for the last few weeks, having some of my family members with me at this time of the year is going to make my holidays extra-special, merry and bright! I sincerely hope that if you celebrate the season, you will have a great time with those who are close and dear to you.Just when many were getting over Thanksgiving, here comes Christmas in a little over a week. Before you can finish saying "Merry Christmas" to everyone, 2011 will be here! It is not too late to finalize on those 2010 resolutions; it is not too late to start cultivating good habits to take over into 2011; and it is not too late to do what you say you really want to do. "Obstacles can't stop you. Problems can't stop you. Most of all other people can't stop you. Only you can stop you."
In the spirit of giving, I will be giving of my time and energy in various ways, so maybe I will see you around the way. The bulk of 2010 has been a great year for me, and I am still counting my blessings and giving thanks that I was fortunate enough to connect with folks like Edwin Coke and Mark McFarlane before they passed. My heart is still heavy, but I remain hopeful that the senseless killings will stop.
If you have already made your holiday gift list and did not include someone who is less fortunate, consider making an adjustment. The options are many -- make a charitable donation, visit an orphanage or senior center, support a worthy cause, send money overseas to a family in need, donate winter accessories, or adopt a child for the holidays! Last year when I adopted two little girls for the holidays, it was one of the sweetest joys I experienced. Even though I will not be doing that this year, I encourage YOU to consider something similar. REST IN PEACE, ZOLA BURSE
Zola Burse had his real start in music in 1972 at which time he was involved with STAX Records. As time progressed, he became more involved with music production, stage coordination, and artist tour management. In 1982, he began to do stage coordination for the Grammies, American Music Awards, Soul Train Music Awards and various other TV productions through 1990. Through the involvement in these productions, Zola worked with almost every artist performing in these events and many know him as being Beres Hammond's road manager. Read more HERE.
