Thanks for the outpouring of love and
trust you sent me based on last week's editorial. I really appreciate it when you take the time out to write me and share your personal stories. Please also know that in the same way that my writing helps you; along with your feedback, it is therapy for ME. I know that we can all heal and be stronger with the support of each other and so as we get ready to close out December and welcome a brand new year in a few weeks, my first wish is that we will all find quality people who we can trust and share with, grow stronger through our affiliation with, and be supportive of.
Mark McFarlane's funeral was beautiful and many of us drew strength from each other by just being surrounded by so many people -- all of whom had ONLY positive things to say about Mark.

Edwin Coke at a 2008 "PEP" function |
Edwin Coke's funeral is tentative for December 18 in Jamaica but for those of you who cannot make it, please email me regarding the memorial service we are planning for him here in DC on January 8.
I was avoiding this but there is a Jamaican proverb which says that death always come in threes. I learned about 9:30am this morning that one of
ERFSC's beloved board members and community activist died this morning.
Ms. Lillian Barnes had been hospitalized recently and many of us in the Washington DC community had been praying for her recovery. Lillian was a lovely spirit and an inspiration to many of us. She was always giving and caring and shall always be remembered for the beautiful person she was. Condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of Ms. Barnes. May her soul rest in peace.
This week my spirit feels a little better, but I have been under the weather since Monday so I have not really been "out and about." I am keeping it low key until I feel stronger...I just wanted to check in, thank you for your continued support, and keep the business side going.
Have a great week, protect your neck, ears, fingers, and all vulnerable body parts and stay warm if you are in cold places like me. Happy belated birthday to
Ziggy and Darren and happy birthday to
Sandy Watson who has done her part to make me a happy camper!
Peace and blessings,
