Greetings!
The Click It Steering Committee was honored for their assistance on June 24 at the National Safety Council breakfast at the Regency Lodge.

Thanks to everyonsteering committee 2010e who has assisted with the work of Click It this year!  Safety Belt Usage is so important, and at 85% usage, we are gradually achieving the goal of getting every Nebraskan to buckle up every trip, every time.

Stencil Day Encore
Buckle Up!  What an appropriate message for the exit out of the parking lot!  Click It painted more stenciled messages in parking lots in Omaha on Tuesday, June 29.  We've also communicated with some out of Omaha businesses who have decided to purchase stencils of their own.

Omaha businesses adding a stenciled reminder were:

Hills Brother Transportation
Lakeland Engineering
Cardinal Health
Gilsa Dairy
Greif Packaging

There are many ways to get the reminder out there, and painting a reminder in the parking lot is one of them!  Thanks to all who participated in this project.
Honor Roll Congratulations!
Congratulations to the latest Honor Roll recipients!

Both of these companies know the importance of keeping their workforce safe!  While many factors cause crashes, a safety belt remains your best defense in a motor vehicle crash.  "When lap/shoulder safety belts are used properly, they reduce the risk of fatal injury to front-seat occupants riding in passenger vehicles by 45 percent and the risk of moderate-to-critical injury by 50 percent. For light-truck front-seat occupants, safety belts reduce the risk of fatal injury by 60 percent and the risk of moderate-to-citical injury by 65 percent." (NHTSA: Primary Enforcement Saves Lives )

Whether an employee is hurt or killed in a crash on or off the job, the employer faces expense of both money and time in the aftermath.

The "Click It Chronicle," our Click It Campaign e-letter, published whenever there is news, is available to all those interested in increasing safety belt usage.  Please share this information freely. Take the information, copy to friends, businesses and organizations with the same concerns.  Using the information provided will help reduce the needless fatalities and injuries on our highways and the associated costs.
