Reflecting on the Meaning of Balance
Monday night's Conscious
Conversation was enlightening, enriching, and once again, meaningful. We shared
and exchanged our thoughts and beliefs about the meaning of BALANCE - how it
plays out in our lives, how we achieve it, and what actions are necessary to experience
it. During our dialogue, we received new insights and reminders from each other. Here are a few that really struck a chord.
- "It takes a lot of effort to keep the scales
in balance (an effort-full activity). But, if we focus on staying centered
regardless of which way the scales tip, we remain center pointed, which is
effortless."
-
"It's ok to be out of balance; just don't
live there."
-
"We make sacrifices to achieve what we want
and that is disguised as out of balance. Our judgments of what is good or bad,
in balance or out of balance, creates a state of resistance to what is. What if
we could completely enjoy the journey despite the ups and downs?"
-
"Endure the lows and enjoy the hell out of
the highs."
-
"The "falls" in life make the rest
of life seem a lot brighter and better."
The evening formed new friendships and new connections
outside of myself and within myself. I left Conscious Conversations witnessing
the effects of my passion to create collaborative communities that inspire well-being
and support the potential of people. A wave of excitement took place as I
realized my desires are coming to life (stay tuned for new announcements coming this month). I returned home with more acceptance of my appetite for having a lot of projects, ideas, and tasks on my plate as I manifest my vision to make a
positive impact on humanity. For me,
this is what fills me. This is my process. This is my journey.
When I think of achieving BALANCE, I think of my husband
surfing the waves, or myself on a stand-up paddleboard paddling in the lake.
Both require microscopic adjustments of the body and mind to tune into the rhythm
of nature - a force greater than the board and greater than ourselves. There is
a partnership between the source (in this case, the water) and ourselves
requiring a new level of harmony. Each adjustment is an experiment, elevating self awareness as to what will produce the desired outcome that we seek. But
along the way, we are enjoying the journey. We are enjoying the adventure. We are enjoying being connected to nature.
This serves as a reminder for my life. Making daily tweaks
and adjustments to the inflow and outflow of energy (giving to others, giving
to myself, and receiving), is part of the ride I choose to take. Releasing the
judgment of what is good or bad, right or wrong, brings me a deeper sense of
surrender. As a result, I can more fully enjoy the journey.
This week, I invite you to ask yourself:
-
Am I
willing to surrender to the flow of my life?
-
What
adjustments are necessary for me to enjoy the ride?

SOULFUL SEEDS
"
We are going through a shift right now in which we are
being asked to let go of the old and embrace the new. In this process, it is easy to doubt yourself
and to wonder if you are imagining that your purpose is actually possible. This
doubt will make you act out of fear: slashing your prices, bribing people to
use your services, undermining your value. STOP.
Stay focused on what you are creating and the value it
gives to society. Look for the people that are open and willing to commit to
what you have to offer. You will find
them.

Feng Shui Tip
10/8/09
"Today is 'Balloons
Around the World Day.' So it's incumbent upon me to be the messenger for my
craft and share how you send 'Wish Balloons to the Sky Dragons.' The Chinese
believe that there's a great dragon in the sky that has the power to propel
your wishes into the cosmos so that your heart's desires can return to you on
the wind. But first you must send those wishes out in a specific way. Grab a
red or yellow, white, pink or lavender colored helium filled balloon and tie it
with nine, 18 or 27 inches of red ribbon, yarn or string. Write your wish on
the balloon with a black felt-tip pen that you buy especially for this
occasion. Only one wish per balloon, please! Be specific and concise and really
get your message across. Remember, you're not filled with hot air! Then on a
slightly windy day when the sun is not too bright, release the balloon into the
sky. Watch it as it flies higher until it slowly vanishes from sight. As the
balloon disappears visualize it transforming into a ball of golden light and
see your message emblazoned within. Then, after you can no longer see your
wishes on the horizon, know that the Sky Dragon has swallowed it and will now
begin to actualize this wish for you, no strings attached."
