The Vows We Make
Yesterday, on 9/09/09 at
9:09:09am, I had the honor to officiate a beautiful wedding ceremony for two soul
mates that finally found each other. The number nine in Feng Shui represents happy and prosperous conclusions that bring completion to a cycle so the birth of a new one can be created. The day and timing of this wedding was consciously chosen for this reason.
A wedding is one of the most special events that I get to be a part of in an intimate way. Each
ceremony I have performed has been co-created with the bride and groom, weaving
in stories of how they met, what they love about one another, and what
commitments they want to make. As a result, sacred space is created and I am
given the gift to witness the raw, genuine, and powerful love between two people.
During each wedding
ceremony, including my own, great care and thought is given to the vows we make
to our partners. A vow, like a contract, is a promise that we consciously claim, committing ourselves completely to the other. Throughout the
relationship, we strive to keep true to our vows with daily action, choices and
behaviors. Here are a few of my favorite examples:

Feng Shui Tip
 9/10/09: Swap Ideas Day
"My
interpretation of 'Swap Ideas Day' is of energies relating to
networking, brainstorming and creating new and wonderful connections,
or even activating old ones that may have fallen by the wayside. Either
way, Feng Shui has just the cure! In this philosophy there are many
methods that strive to create a flow of Chi that then promise to
greatly enhance opportunities for business and social successes.
Remember to agree to any meeting these efforts generate as fortunate
possibilities that may then generate even more beneficial ones down the
line. For 27 consecutive days contact at least one person who you
haven't had contact with inside the last six months. The contact can be
made by text, email, phone call, in person or even by snail mail. You
simply need to reach out to one person each day in order to adjust the
energies that can invigorate your world. In each contact you must avoid
complaining or even making any requests. This is simply a stab at
reconnecting as well as reestablishing open lines of communication.
Don't turn down any opportunities that arise from these efforts. Make
time, make room, make the effort. Visualize that your career, social
life, friendships and family ties now become more harmonious, happier
and balanced, as well as more blessed and personally beneficial. And
