We've planned a great event for you next week at Yellowfin in Edgewater. Come join us to see and hear how Seven Seas Energy plans to soon dedicate the new solar array that is being installed on the building's unique rooftop canopy!
We're also going to surprise you with something new ... not that our crowd has any lack of networking skills ... you'll see. We want to make it easier for you to connect with others who share your own "flavor' of interest in the environment. Stay tuned.
Our raffle, generously donated by Yellowfin, is a certificate for brunch for four!
The 36-panel solar project, installed by Seven Seas Energy LLC is part of a much larger program involving sustainable energy initiatives throughout the Yellowfin organization. The solar energy array will  provide over 10,000 kWh of electricity annually. That's equal to the energy consumed by a typical home in Maryland. Learn more. Seven Seas principals are George "Drew" Frank and Sotereas "Teris" Pantazes. Teris is the head honcho of Green Drinks Baltimore.

 Did you know that stormwater runoff is the major cause of water pollution in Anne Arundel County?
Working together, 44 (and growing) partners are implementing the RainScaping Campaign to improve the health of Anne Arundel County's tributaries and the Chesapeake Bay. The campaign highlights pollutants carried to our waterways in stormwater runoff such as sediment, excess nutrients from overuse of fertilizers, pesticides, oils, metals, and other contaminants; as well as the lack of natural filtering processes and infiltration. The RainScaping Campaign promotes a comprehensive approach to easy-to-use solutions to clean up our streams, creeks, rivers, and the Chesapeake Bay.
RainScaping techniques such as rain gardens, native tree and shrub planting, rain barrels, and permeable pavers are proven and widely-accepted "beautiful landscaping techniques" that effectively manage stormwater runoff at the source, while protecting natural resources and providing wildlife habitat. It's Beautiful Solutions to Water Pollution!

What is Green Drinks?
Green Drinks is a monthly get-together that gives the environmentally minded a chance to get to know one another in a fun, informal way facilitating connections and working together for a common cause: The Health of the Chesapeake Bay. We are apart of an amazing international group, greendrinks.org, with over 600 like us all around the world. Of course, we think our Annapolis crew is the best! After Green Drinks
 When Green Drinks is over, stay for dinner or head over to the South River Federation's Quarterly Fall Membership Meeting at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation's Merrill Center.
The topic is Human Health and the Chesapeake Bay. The guest speaker is Dr. Robert S. Lawrence, Director, Center for a Livable Future & Professor of Environmental Health Sciences, Health Policy, and International Health, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
