Dear youth and parents, We're finally getting into a rhythm here in the youth office as Jessica and Herb get the hang of their school workloads at Brite and TCU and as our Sunday morning and evening programs transition from introductory, get-to-know-you sessions into meatier topics that will have continuity from Sunday-to-Sunday. I'll be conducting an orientation and training session for our Sunday school teachers and shepherds tonight, and Jessica and Herb have been working with our Sunday night youth group sponsors to lay the foundation for a great year. First Sunday Lunch for youth and parents this Sunday

youth and parents are invited to First Sunday Lunch this weekend.
Come to Pappas Burger (2700 West Freeway) following the 11
a.m. worship service where we'll have a dining room reserved for good
food and informal conversation. Looking to meet other youth or youth parents? This is a great way to connect!

Sunday night youth groups break for Labor Day, back Sep. 12
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~ Our Sunday night youth programs will take a break this Sunday for Labor Day weekend. We'll return to our regular schedule on September 12 with snack supper at 6 p.m. followed by Chi Rho and CYF youth groups from 6:30 - 7:45 p.m. Sunday school classes will meet as usual this Sunday morning.

Snack supper volunteers needed - several Sundays available ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~
Looking for an easy way to support UCC's youth ministry without making a long-term commitment? Why not provide a snack supper for our youth and volunteers on Sunday night? Volunteers set up dinner in the 3rd floor kitchen to serve from 6 - 6:30 p.m., then clean up afterward. Plates, cups, utensils, and lemonade mix are provided...you only need to bring the food and a smile. Reimbursement up to $100 is available, or you can choose to donate the meal.
Dates still available for this semester include October 10; November 7, 14, and 21; and December 5 and 12. To reserve a date, just e-mail Sharyn at sharyn@uccftw.com and let her know your first and second choice. |
