IRON MAIDEN...Finally!!
Summer Road Trip Bittersweet
So, our good friend Chad Stewart and the rest of our buddies from Faster Pussycat are currently on an east coast tour with Jack Russell's Great White, Pretty Boy Floyd, Bullet Boys and Lillian Axe. So, naturally, we plan to see them at Empire(formerly Jaxx) in Springfield, VA. Low and behold, Alice Cooper and Iron Maiden are scheduled to play the night before in Bristow, just a hop, skip & a jump from Springfield (incidentally, with a Wegmans right in between!). So we decide to extend the front end of our trip since neither of us had ever seen Maiden. While visiting in Durham, NC we notice a bit of wind over night, only to wake on Saturday morning to find that most of northern VA is without power! Thankfully, we reach our hotel in  Mannassas, and they have power, as does the Jiffy Lube Live venue. Alice Cooperwas as entertaining as ever, and Maiden...ROCKED!!! Bruce Dickinson sounds incredible, and is a wild man on the stage, running to and fro, all  while carrying outstanding vocals!! All the Eddies were there, as they changed backdrops between songs,  and even a few 3-dimensional characters as well. Pyrotechnics and all the great hits..."2 Minutes To Midnight", "Run To The Hills", "# Of The Beast" to name a few.
So, Sunday morning we hop in Red's new ride and head to Springfield. The closer we get, the fewer traffic lights are working. Then we get to within a few blocks of Empire and see this:
 
We pull into the parking lot, and nearly every business around the club has power...except Empire. We hold our breath and drive to the hotel, which, luckily again, has power. Long story short...we got to see Chad and the band for about 15 minutes before they headed out to the next stop, then we went to Wegmans! We were disappointed we didn't get to see a show Sunday, but not a totally wasted trip!
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who were/are still affected by the storms and the damage!

Retro Active Fantasy Football
Join Our League!
In hon or of the new NFL arrivals at Retro Active, I decided this was the year I would manage a league. And since we don't have very many employees, I figured I would open it up to our loyal Newsletter readers!! So, the first ten people to respond to this email will receive an email invitation to join our league, the Throw Backs!!
