New Church Directory and E-mail Version of The Witness
Through the first half of September, a draft of the St. Stephen's Directory will be in the Narthex for you to check. Please check the entry for your family to make sure we have the correct names, address, phone number, birth dates, and especially the correct email address. Also please check the box if you would be willing to receive ONLY the email version of the Witness and not the hardcopy through the US Mail. We would like to switch most of our mailing list to the electronic version so that we can save on the cost of postage. If you have questions, please contact Kandace our secretary at 303-776-1072 or via email Kandace.einbeck@gmail.com

Change for Change Acolyte Robes
Great news!! After 6 weeks of collecting change, we are almost half way to our goal with $960 collected so far!! Please keep bringing in your change and praying for the success of the fundraiser. Now here is the part that we are really going to need everyone to help with:
Chick-Fil-A Longmont is going to help us raise money for our new robes on September, 19th from 5:00-7:30! All we have to do is get people to go eat there that night from 5:00-7:30 and leave their receipt in the containers. This can be done either inside or at the drive thru (just tell them at the window, your receipt goes in the container). Please help us get the word out, the more people we can get in there the better!! Chick-Fil-A will donate 20% of the total of all receipts turn in to the containers to the acolyte robe fund!
It will be a great night to not have to cook dinner, and we look forward to seeing all of you there! Thank you all so much.

LET'S GET OUR CREATIVE JUICES FLOWING
to make St. Stephen's the
BEST PLACE TO BE ON SUNDAY MORNINGS!!!
BACK TO SUNDAY SCHOOL AT ST. STEPHEN'S!!!
This September we will be continuing with our Workshop Rotation Model of Christian Formation. This is a creative and fun, intergenerational way of learning about our faith through hands on workshops and thought provoking discussions. This year of learning and fun will be starting on September 11th (for topics offered, see board in the narthex).
With this model, we have the flexibility to teach topics that interest us, in ways that are engaging for all. There will be 2 workshops offered twice each Sunday. One "lesson" starting at about 9:15, and another around 10:00, so that all people, of different ages, and backgrounds can get involved. If you normally attend the 8:00 service, grab your coffee and stay to see what is happening that day. If you prefer to attend the 10:00 service, come at your usual time and drop off the kids in Boone Hall. However, you may be interested in attending a workshop yourself, as we have some very interesting topics lined up!!! Come early and learn alongside your children and peers.
If you have a passion for something in your life and would like to share that with the congregation, please contact Tara Towers (303-678-8872) or Father Max about putting on your own workshop (only one week of commitment is necessary per year!). You may not think that your interests relate to our Christian life at all, but remember that all of our talents are God given. All can be used to teach His Word and how He would like us to live the life He has planned for us. All specialties are welcome!!! We had fun with this last year, and we need your help to expand it out to even more ideas and more involvement from the congregation.

Thank You from H.O.P.E.
Dear St. Stephen's Parishioners,
H.O.P.E. would like to thank you for collecting 106 pairs of shoes for homeless members of our community. A homeless person once remarked that "being homeless took a lot of 'soul'. He went on to explain that the 'soul' he was referring to was the 'sole' of shoes. Since the homeless walk to many miles in a day's time.
I think of that story often. Thanks for helping them with their "soles and souls!"
With much appreciation
The Board of Directors, Staff and Volunteers of H.O.P.E.

 Altar Guild Volunteers Needed
Have you ever been curious about the beauty and the maintenance of the altar? As an Altar Guild member, you can be part of this vital ministry to serve our Lord. The Primary Duty is to set up and then clean up after all services following the proper procedures for the type of service (Sundays, baptisms, weddings, funerals).
Preparation for each service includes:
- Setting out appropriate color of altar hangings and vestments according to the season and service.
- Taking care of the housekeeping of the Sacristy and Sanctuary.
We work in teams that serve approximately one week a month, except for the Christmas and Easter seasons, when all members participate.
The Altar Guild is open to all members of the parish. If you are interested, contact Robin Trader at Robin_Trader@comcast.net or call 303-651-0928, or see her on Sunday between services.

Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God's love. Since 1993, more than 61 million shoe boxes have been packed, shipped, and delivered across the globe. People of all ages can be involved in this simple, hands-on mission project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas-Jesus Christ.
St Cecilia's Guild is going to sponsor the program again this year and we need YOUR help. We need to start collecting items to put in the shoeboxes. We hope everyone will participate in this ministry. Collection boxes will be in the Narthex. More information to follow.
There are several ways YOU can help with this ministry:
1) Actually pack your own shoebox and bring it to the church.
OR
2) Bring items to church to be used to fill the boxes, fill the boxes and get them ready to take to Denver
for shipping overseas. (Dollar stores are a good place to go, and school supply sales going on now.)
OR
3) Donate money to buy supplies and help with the shipping costs ($7.00) per box.
Here is a partial list of things to start looking for:
Shoeboxes - we need PLENTY Small shirts, socks, ball caps, etc. Toiletries - travel-size is ideal Toothbrushes, toothpaste, comb, brush, etc. Pencils, notebooks, crayons, markers etc. Candy and gum Small Toys and Card Games

Peddle for Nets
Who Knew?
A small idea could grow so big?
How big? $10,000
Remember, 1 net = $12 1 net = 3 lives saved
Do the math ... 833 nets ... 2,500 lives possibly saved
Could one of these persons be a future peacekeeper, author, teacher, pastor, scientist, doctor, or justice seeker?
WE MADE A DIFFERENCE!!!
A few stats...24 people rode...45 people were virtual riders
MANY more people donated time, talent and treasure.
A huge thank you to all who participated in this effort....
You rock, and you know who you are!
