Greetings!

This issue brings an offer to save money when purchasing cat furniture.  It's a limited time offer and by the time you get this newsletter it will be the last day to take advantage of the savings. So if you have been undecided about getting that new piece of cat furniture now may be a good time to act.

We keep expanding our list of which cat tree design is best for a particular cat breed based on the characteristics and temperament of the breed.  This month we feature the Bengal.  We welcome any comments from you cat owners who have purchased one of our trees and would appreciate hearing about how long it took your cat to adapt to the new tree and what favorite activities is currently has.

We thank you for your support, and as always, we are open to suggestions and encourage you to email us with any ideas or comments about our products or the content of this newsletter.  Enjoy Spring!

Wall Mount Accessories
Important Components for a Cat Playground

Wall Mount Trio

Want to provide your cat with an opportunity to get additional exercise that is fun for the cat, and fun for you?

Think about building an entire playground for your cat with wall mount cat furniture that gives you the freedom to make the playground as small or as large as you want it.  You can start with a single accessory and add pieces to your design in the future.

There are basically four accessory pieces designed to complement the wall mount cat tree that is featured on our website.  The accessories can be mounted without the tree; it all depends on how much room you have and what kind of "wallscape" you want to design for your cat.

All our cat furniture is made in the U.S. and we use the same quality material and craftsmanship that we use in our full size cat trees.  The accessories are very easy to mount.  You simply attach brackets to the wall 16 inches apart, and the accessory splits securely onto the bracket.

Color is not a problem.  We would be happy to make your accessory piece in any color carpet you find on any of our cat trees.

So let your imagination go wild ... think about the design you can put on the wall that will be both pleasing to you and physically challenging for your cat.

Order your first wall accessory today.
The Right Cat Tree For A Bengal
A loving, intelligent house cat

Courtesy of Leo's PrideThe Bengal cat is a medium to large domestic cat that originated by mating the small Asian Leopard Cat to a domestic cat in an attempt to create a companion with a "exotic" look but a domestic temperament.  After four or five generations of Bengal-to-Bengal breeding the
(picture courtesy:     breed was recognized for championship
Leo's Pride Cattery) competition by most international domestic cat
                             associations.

Bengals are very happy active cats that love an interactive relationship with people.  They have a very intelligent personality and its best to direct their curiosity as opposed to constantly get them out of trouble.  The Bengal is very energetic and seems to be constantly on the move which makes them perfect for anyone wanting a hands-on relationship with their pet on a daily basis.

Knowing that a Bengal requires a lot of attention, and enjoys being an integral part of the family, helps in the selection of a suitable cat tree for the breed.

Because of their high energy level you need a cat tree that is multi-level so the cat can burn off some energy running up and down the tree as opposed to trying to climb the drapes.  To tweak their curiosity it is best to have a tree you can attach toys to, or hide toys or treats in cubby holes.  Your cat will love the investigative activity required to find the treat that you occasionally hide to create a challenge.

Because Bengals want to be in the center of family activity you should have a cat tree that fits into and complements the family area of your home.  That requires consideration of size and color.  We have a wide variety of both.  We are happy to modify the color and generally advise customers that if you see a color on any cat tree we can usually put that color on your tree.  There is a nominal fee for a color change.

Visit our website to see all our medium to large multi-level cat trees.

Kitty Kindergarten
No Kitty Left Behind

Cats in school  There is a trend spreading across the country where new cat owners and their kittens attend classes that help educate the owner and condition the kitty to home/family life.  This "Kitty Kindergarten" is a program started by an Australian veterinary behaviorist, Dr Kersti Seksel, and is offered to owners with kittens 7 to 14 weeks old.

In many communities Kitty Kindergartens are being sponsored by a variety of veterinarians, humane societies, behaviorists and other specialists.  Classes generally range from one to four weeks and besides allowing kittens to play and interact with owners and other cats, there is discussion of topics such as: kitten socialization, cat grooming, basic health issues, cat behavior, how to train your kitten, how to provide quality play time, how to provide a mentally enriched environment, and of course nutrition.

Simply by raising the knowledge level of new cat owners these classes help people keep their cats by solving specific problems and allow them to work with their cats to create a bond that results in more of a commitment to make it work, thus turning cat ownership into a beautiful relationship.

School is becoming the "in" thing for kittens, so if you want to keep up with the Joneses you better get your name on the waiting list for a coveted spot in Kitty Kindergarten.  Remember, we want NO kitty left behind.

The place to start - ask your vet or check with your local humane society.

Cody's Corner
Miscellaneous Kibble

Cody- An organization called CATalyst Council recently published a list of what they say are the top 10 feline friendly cities in the U.S.  Cities were rated based on both public and private resources available for cats and cat owners.  The cities are:
Tampa / Phoenix / San Francisco / Portland, OR /
Denver / Boston / Seattle / San Diego / Atlanta and Minneapolis.

Dogs may be regarded as man's best friend, but in terms of sheer numbers, cats outnumber dogs in American households by nearly 10 million.  There are roughly 82 million cats versus 72 million dogs.

The ten reasons owning a cat is better than having a kid:
1.  They eat less
2.  They don't ask for money all the time
3.  They are easier to train
4.  They usually come when called
5.  They never drive your car
6.  They don't hang out with drug-using friends
7.  They don't smoke or drink
8.  They don't worry about having to buy the latest fashions
9.  They don't need a gazillion dollars for college, and
10. If they get pregnant, you can sell their children

The following plants are potentially dangerous to your cat and should not be in an environment where your cat has access:  holly, impatiens, ivy, mistletoe and oleander.
