Last year we had a Kindred Spirits Essay Contest.
The top essays are posted on the Kindred Spirits Website.
Contestants submitted beautiful and touching stories of their Kindred Spirits. A group of you led by Laurie read over them all and submitted the winners.
This year I would like to have a photography contest.
If I were submitting for this, I would use the picture I sent you all before of me and Gizzy. The idea is simple....the picture should capture the relationship.
I will not be submitting though.
I would like a group of 10 people to help with the judging. One person will be the chairperson. Email me if you are interested. I will select the committee this week and we'll communicate directly via email.
Prizes are as follows:
1st prize $100
2nd prize $50
3rd prize $25
1st prize childrens division $50
Deadline for submission of photos is July 1st.
Submission Guidelines:
2) Picture theme "Kindred Spirits" . The relationship is key. The relationship must be between human/pet. Pet/pet or cute pets all alone do not count.
3) Once selected, I will be posting the pictures on the website and other promotional material (I don't know what that is yet, but it sounds official)..seriously--lots of people will see this picture.
4) Contestants must be part of the Kindred Spirits Email list
5) Although quality of photo/resolution will be considered in the judging, the primary criteria will be the story the photo tells.
The last contest was a blast. I was amazed by the beautiful stories last year and the time and effort that so many people put into it. You can submit a picture that you've already taken or sent to me, or you can snap a picture tonight when your spouse is kanudling the cat.
No matter what, I look forward to you sharing your special Kindred Spirit photo.
