As the President of the Ysleta Teachers Association, I am proud to announce that Ysleta ISD has been named as one of the top five finalist in the country for the Broad Prize for Urban Education. The Broad Prize is awarded each year to honor urban school districts that demonstrate the greatest overall performance and improvement in student achievement while reducing achievement gaps among low-income and minority students.

In the YTA December E-Newsletter, I announced that YISD was selected as one of 100 eligible districts in the nation.

Thank You and Congratulations for the hard work and dedication that you have exemplified. Our children deserve the best and you, as professionals, have continued to step up to the plate.
