Special Issue: 25th November 2008
Greetings!

Have a look at the newspaper ad below.  It's the wigs and fancy hair work that really tickles me.

The ad first appeared in the Galway Vindicator on the 25th November 1871. My grandfather put it in to alert the nobility, clergy and gentry of Galway that he was now open for business.

A friend of mine from Galway send me a copy of it recently and I couldn't resist creating a special issue of my ezine - dated the 25th November, of course - to announce that ...

My grandfather's marketing campaign

... Robert Hayes-McCoy, copywriter, author and direct marketing consultant is practicing his trade in Dublin and begs to  return his thanks to all his clients and friends for their kind patronage and hopes that by strict attention to business, to merit a continuance of your support in the months and years ahead.

And whereas the wigs and fancy hair work are no longer part of the Hayes-McCoy family offerings, we can offer you award winning direct mail letters, acclaimed training courses in persuasive writing, attractive ezines like this one, and excellent web site copy.

Try us and see! In the meantime I hope you enjoy my grandfather's advertising campaign. And ... of course ... have a happy 25th November!

Yours sincerely
 Robert Hayes-McCoy

PS Hey , In case you're wondering what happened to all that
sweet smelling 'perfumery' that my grandfather offered in yesteryear, let me assure you that I still provide  it. Only, these days it comes to you in the form of the sweet smell of success that is associated with much of the work that I can do for you.

Visit our archive of past ezines

People sometimes ask if ...

Click on this picture to visit our ezine archives
... it is possible for me to send them a copy of a past ezine or two of mine. Up to now this service was not available because I simply didn't keep an archive of my old ezines. I guess I really didn't have enough ezines to live up to the somewhat grand title of 'archive'.

But times flies! And while it seems only like yesterday when I was writing and creating my first ezine, in actual fact it almost two years ago.

I've now reached the stage,  , where even I am of the opinion that an archive of past ezines would be a good thing to have. So here it is. If you click on the picture above or on the link below, it will take you immediately to my archive.

And if you come across anything in there that you'd like to talk to me about, you are very welcome to email me at [email protected].

 A special message for you,
Hey

If December is the month when you plan your activities for the coming year, one of the things that you should consider is publishing online articles and press releases about your products, services or your website.

You'll be amazed at how effective they are at drawing attention to your organisation. They are just perfect for these tough times when you have to keep a close eye on your advertising budget. I plan to attach an article about this to my Christmas ezine which will be coming out a few weeks from now, so keep an eye out for it.

Google adwords are another great way of promoting your products or services online. If you'd like me to email you an article of mine about how to set up your own Google adwords, contact me personally at [email protected] and I'll be delighted to do this for you.

Sincerely,

Robert Hayes-McCoy
