Prayer Requests

Mike Eagen, deployed to Afghanistan

Please keep us informed about your life group by letting us know about any needs and prayer requests for your life group.

Your Mission Action Plan (MAP)

CompassAt our leadership training meeting in November, we discussed developing Mission Action Plans (MAP).  Each group should develop their own MAP, which they will  officially implement beginning on January 1, 2011!  The MAP should outline 3-5 practical (and, preferably, measurable) goals for each of our core values (reaching up, reaching in, and reaching out).  Each group should identify a specific area of the community that they will target for "reaching out".  Every group's MAP will be unique.

Click here for more info on how to develop your MAP, and to see a sample one.

Each group should have already begun developing their MAP.  Be sure to include your group members in the development of the plan, so that they will feel a sense of ownership for it.  Please bring your MAP to next month's leadership training.  If you have any questions, please let us know!
Mark your calendars: Training Session on January 10!

Holiday Outreach

Don't forget that Christmas and New Year's are great opportunities to reach out to your life group's neighborhood!  Here are a few ideas for how to use these opportunities to build relationships with your neighbors:
  • Invite them to life group holiday events, meals, or parties
  • Invite them to our Christmas service on December 19 (Outreach packets, including invitations and a New Testament, are available in the hallway on Sundays)
  • Bring them cookies, ornaments, gift baskets, etc.

Christmas Cards for Families in West Asia

Christmas CardThis month, a couple from our church is traveling to West Asia to visit the families we have sent there as missionaries to the Muslim world.  We are collecting Christmas cards for those three families this Sunday to send with this couple.  Please bring a Christmas card, or sign one that we provide, to show these families that we love them and support them!

Look for the table in the hallway this week!  This Sunday, December 12, is the deadline!
Flood Relief

ConstructionThere is still a LOT of work to be done to help families recover from the devastating losses caused by the flood.  We encourage life groups to continue serving together to help with the rebuilding process.  To volunteer, meet at the old preschool building Mondays through Fridays, any time between 9am and 5pm.  It's also possible to work in the evenings or weekends-- just arrange it with Melissa Thomas ahead of time.

Visit the flood relief page on our website for more info.
Thank you all for reading!  We appreciate all that you do to lead and serve your life groups!  Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to help!

Sincerely,
