World Missions Conference

FearlessOur annual world missions conference this year will take place on October 15 - 17.  The theme of the conference this year is "Fearless".  Our keynote speaker will be Chris Jones, the executive director of the North American Azerbaijani Network, and Virgil.  As you know, this conference is a big part of life at LCF, so please be sure to regularly mention the conference in your meetings and encourage your group members to come!  Check out the world missions conference page on the website for more info, including the conference schedule!
New Training Material

Outgrowing the Ingrown ChurchOur new life group leadership training material is the book Outgrowing the Ingrown Church, which encourages churches to be "outward-looking and outward-moving communities of Jesus Christ."

In our October leadership meeting, we discussed chapters one and two.  We were very excited to hear what you have been learning and how it can be implemented!  The key points and discussion questions are available here.  Please discuss these questions with other life group leaders and your life group members.

Please read chapters three and four (pages 41 - 63) before our next meeting on November 1.
Revisiting the Basics
It's easy to get caught up in the logistics of our weekly meetings-- who's coming, who's bringing snacks, what are we going to discuss, etc.  While these practical details are important to our life groups, it's essential that we periodically revisit the the purpose of our life group, the basics.  This can serve as a great reminder to the leader and group members alike, and help re-focus us in our efforts.

So, what is the purpose of our life groups?  Reaching up, reaching in, and reaching out.  You can read more about these by clicking hereWe encourage you to take time during a life group meeting soon to revisit each of these three core values, and discuss how your specific life group can accomplish each!
We want to hear from you!
discover your missionWe want to know how you and your life group are doing!  Not only that, we would love to share your stories with other life group leaders as encouragement.  If you have any recent God stories-- stories in which you have met each others' needs, reached out to others at work or in your community, etc., please send them to us

Flood Relief

ConstructionThere is still a LOT of work to be done to help families recover from the devastating losses caused by the flood.  We encourage life groups to continue serving together to help with the rebuilding process.  To volunteer, meet at the old preschool building Mondays through Fridays, any time between 9am and 5pm, or Saturdays, between 9am and 12pm.  It's also possible to work in the evening or Sundays-- just arrange it with Melissa Thomas ahead of time.

Visit the flood relief page on our website for more info.
