Featured Article: Meet Trevor Castle!
About Trevor: Trevor is about the begin his second year teaching and coaching at LCS. He teaches middle school boys' PE, as well as health and journalism. In addition to being the
volleyball coach and the assistant basketball coach, he is the assistant athletic director. He admits this takes up most of his time, but he enjoys just about
every second of it. When he has free time, he enjoys reading, hanging out with his wife, and watching or playing any type
of sport. He would describe himself as "a laid back guy who is always
going to tell you what you need to hear, loyal to the core and willing
to serve in any way." Currently, his family consists of himself, his wife Ashley and their lab/retriever Vandy. They enjoy lounging around together any chance
they get. He and Ashley also enjoy hanging out with their friends and game
nights. What he enjoys about leading a life group: "My greatest joy in leading a life group is just being able to live life
with people. I love simply walking with someone as they experience what
God is doing in their lives. Whether it be a trial or a celebration,
being close enough to partake in the situation brings me great joy." Encouragement for other life group leaders: "It's ok to feel worn out. We are not superheroes. Let your group members
know when you are tired or overwhelmed. I guarantee they will be
willing to carry some of your load." Favorite Bible verse: "James 1:27 is one that is near to my heart because it speaks of God
commanding us to care for the orphans. This is something I feel very
strongly about." Also, Matthew 11:28-30 because "it reminds me that I am not supposed to be carrying
everything by myself. He has already carried it for me and made my load
light."

Flood Relief
There is still a LOT of work to be done to help families recover from the devastating losses caused by the flood. We encourage life groups to continue serving together to help with the rebuilding process. To volunteer, meet at Portable 2 at Lighthouse Tuesdays through Saturdays, any time between 9am and 5pm. It's also possible to work in the evening-- just arrange it with Melissa Thomas ahead of time. Visit the flood relief page on our website for more info.
