Encaustic Painting Tip:

XD Wax Medium got its name because of the extra damar resin it has in it (in comparison to regular Wax Medium).  This higher concentration  of damar gives it a thicker consistency.  As a top coat, it is resistant to surface alterations like scraping or incising and offers a beautiful hard film.  If you are looking to create a glass like surface with a single topcoat, this product is absolutely perfect for you!

Enkaustikos Is On Twitter!

twitterTwittter is a fun social networking site that allows us to give  status updates to our encaustic customers and fans.  By following our updates --a.k.a "tweets"-- you will learn

about our company, our products, and our

passion for encaustic painting.

Jenny Lesczinski, our Communication Specialist, tweets for our company and offers insider info to our followers.  Sometimes she tweets about the latest projects we are working on, what conferences or conventions we are attending, or even what retail stores she's heard are holding encaustic demos or workshops.  She also tweets about educational resources, artists, and even artwork she's stumbled upon.  Since Twitter encourages you to discuss what you're thinking or doing at the moment, Jenny may even discuss what's going on at our manufacturing facility or inform you on our newest products.  No matter what, all of our tweets are short and sweet but will revolve around the wonderful art of encaustic.  There may even be the occasional contest for you to enter, an encaustic discussion you may want to join, or an inspirational quote you may want to read to keep your creativity flowing.

We encourage you to join the growing online encaustic community and connect with us and other encaustic artists on twitter. Follow Enkaustikos on Twitter:  http://www.twitter.com/enkaustikos
