| Focus Day on Jan 18th |
|
January 18th (Martin Luther King Day) is Focus Day, when PTSAs focus on advocating for our kids. Our PTSA council is providing bus transportation to a rally at the State Capitol in Olympia for parents and children to voice the importance of keeping our school budgets intact. Legislators are considering another $2.3 billion in education cuts state-wide, which will mean another $8 million for our district on top of the $8 million we cut last year. These cuts will likely have a big impact on our kids including class sizes, safety net teachers, etc. There will be a march and rally with speeches by the governor and legislators, tours of the capitol, opportunities to meet with legislators, and lots of kid-friendly activities. Please click here for more information or contact Michelle Sullivan if you are interested in signing up. | |
