Calling all chefs (or share with a chef)...
The White House has recently launched a new program "Chefs Move to
Schools" as part of the Let's Move Campaign. This program provides an opportunity for chefs
around the country to adopt a local school and work with teachers,
parents, school nutritionists and administrators to help educate kids
about food and nutrition, as part of the larger effort to solve the
childhood obesity epidemic within a generation.
In
March, John was part of a small team of chefs who met with White House Assistant
Chef Sam Kass and representatives of the USDA and Share Our Strength at the White House to
plan Chefs Move to Schools.
We were given the opportunity to expand this national network of chefs by inviting other chef colleagues to join us this Friday, June 4th at the White House to attend the launch event of this wonderful program.
The timing is short, but if you can make it...don your best chef gear and join forces with us this Friday as we continue to change the world one meal at a time!
Here are the details: Want to join us on June 4th? Please complete this form and e-mail to Lily Nelson of Share our Strength by 11am EST on Tuesday, June 1st. NOTE: This is necessary for security purposes. - Share Our Strength Breakfast
