is now working with
Jamie Oliver, impassioned
chef, TV personality, best-selling author and recipient of the
2010 TED award,
to take a stand and change the way America eats at home, at school and at
work. Tackling the issues of obesity, heart disease and diabetes in the
thought-provoking new series, debuting, Friday March 26 (9-10 PM ET) on ABC TV
"Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution," with
the first stop in Huntington, WV. This effort echoes our vision of "making the world a better place through
better food."
For the past several months SFS has
been busy in the city of Huntington, Cabell County, WV, implementing
a school food makeover by...
- Providing Jamie with insight into school food systems on
both the local and national level
- Developing a model school kitchen, recipes and menu that
will be replicated in 26 schools in the Cabell County school system, serving 8900 meals each school day
- Training and educating staff, teachers and the community
on the preparation and importance of "good food."
