Greetings!
 © Val_th | Dreamstime.com
My favorite time of year to bake cookies has always been Christmas. My family and I spend the majority of December baking all different kinds of yummy sweets, and then we give them away as gifts to family and friends.
This week's newsletter is all about Christmas cookies. I have spent much time searching the Internet looking for deals, recipes, crafts, and more to help you and your family be able to experience the wonders of baking those holiday cookies.
Two of my favorite people to bless with cookies is our mailman and our newspaper lady. Neither one get much recognition all year long, so I love to bake them an assortment, put them in a tin, and write a special thank you note letting them know just how much they are appreciated.
Do you have any special Christmas cookie recipes? If so, email them to me and I will highlight them on the blog. If you have pictures of you and your children baking them, send that as well and your family could be showcased on Econobusters!
On another note, The Hillbilly Housewife is sharing a special mini e-course with all of you on freezer cooking. The holidays is always a great time to do this simply because it frees up some kitchen time so that you can do other things. If you want to get this e-course, you will need to sign up for it. It is free. Click HERE for details.
Merry CHRISTmas,
Molly

Recipe of the Week Peanut Butter Cup Cookies
This recipe comes from All Recipes. They are having a Christmas Cookie Countdown. Everyday until Christmas they are focusing on a fabulous cookie recipe!
I love peanut butter cups, so this cookie is right up my alley!
Peanut Butter Cup Cookie
Ingredients
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons milk
40 miniature chocolate covered peanut butter cups, unwrapped
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Sift together the flour, salt, and baking soda; set aside.
Cream together the butter, sugar, peanut butter, and brown sugar until
fluffy. Beat in the egg, vanilla, and milk. Add the flour mixture; mix
well.
Shape into 40 balls and place each into an ungreased mini muffin pan.
Bake at 375 degrees for about 8 minutes. Remove from oven and
immediately press a mini peanut butter cup into each ball. Cool and
carefully remove from pan.

Weekly Tutorial Decorate those drab paper plates!
I found this adorable tutorial the other day when I was reading some blog posts by my friends.
When delivering those delicious homemade goodies, dress up a paper plate with some ribbon, and it changes it from an old paper plate, to a festive and decorative cookie tray.
You can read about this tutorial and find out how to make your own decorative paper plates by visiting Make and Takes.
