7 Steps to Start A New Business

Entrepreneurship is the American Dream.  Unfortunately, of the 1 million businesses started each year, most of them eventually fail.  The reasons are as varied as the businesses themselves.  Proper planning and eliminating assumptions before opening your doors will drastically increase your chances of success.  If you are considering the possibility of starting a business, this introductory seminar will provide information that may help your business be among the 20 percent that survive and thrive. The seven steps to start a new business are:

Economic Resources for Rural Virginia

There will be the 2011 Economic Resources for Rural Virginia program on Tuesday 7 June from 8:45am to 4pm in the Nance Room of Blackwell Dining Hall at Longwood University.  The forum is free, but registration is required and must be completed by Wednesday, June 1.  For more information or to register, contact Martha A. Golf Donation 2011

A donation of $1000 in honor of Centra Southside Community Hospital, Team 3 was made to the Centra Foundation on May 17th by the Farmville Area Chamber of Commerce. In emulation of Sarah E. Terry's philanthropic spirit, the Chamber has committed to donating $1000 to the winner's charity of choice at each Chamber Golf Classic.
