Mopar Aligns its Distributor Base with Shell
Mopar (the auto parts and service arm of Chrysler) advised its dealers that it is "re-launching" its Mopar Bulk Oil (MBO) program this November. The program reportedly will include expanded business development funds, assistance in developing Express Lane business, new training programs, and service drive signage.
In addition to these enhancements, Mopar advised its dealers that as it completes its bulk oil transition to Shell Oil, it will also make changes with its bulk oil distributors. For many dealers this change means the bulk oil distributor that has been servicing them for years will no longer be stopping by. Instead, it will be a Shell distributor. This is because Mopar says its distributor base now lines up with Shell Oil Company's distributors across the country.
So come November 1, if you are not a Shell distributor, you will not be a Mopar bulk oil distributor. Whereas this is certainly bad news for some distributors, it's good news for Shell's.

Commonwealth Oil Announces BioComm
Actively Looking for Qualified Distributors
Commonwealth Oil Corporation has just announced the release of a new product line of "Readily Biodegradable Synthetic Functional Fluids". The company says it is actively looking for qualified distributors with the appropriate channels of distribution, to serve the global market.
According to Commonwealth Oil, "BioComm Products are the result of constant Research and Development by the Commonwealth Oil Laboratories." Further, "BioComm Products are part of an ongoing effort to live up to the Commonwealth Oil motto of leaving a mark on the industry and not the environment. This is a continuous environmental mandate, part of which also finds Commonwealth Oil as part of the Green Marine, which encourages organizations to minimize their environmental impact."
These biodegradable synthetic ester functional fluids consist of Concrete Forming Fluids, Heavy Duty Gear and Hydraulic Oils, and Ram Type EDM Fluids. They also expect to announce additional products in the near future for other types of industrial applications.
Commonwealth tells JobbersWorld, all BioComm Products meet the criteria for "Readily Biodegradable", meaning the products biodegrade to their natural state when exposed to sunlight, water and microbial activity, within 28 Days. These products are primarily intended for severe extreme temperature applications, such as excessive heat or arctic temperature conditions as low as -58°F, or where sensitive environmental issues must be considered, such as marine, rail and oil platform applications.
