LG head shotWelcome to the table!

Well we have survived what is hopefully the worst of the summer heat, the threat of a hurricane, and much of the hustle and bustle of the summer season. Now we are gearing up for Fall. September and October have become the "hot" wedding months. It is interesting how many of the May/June brides have shifted their desires. As we prepare for the fall, we want to remind you that we have all of your special event rental needs!

The consolidation of our inventory into one warehouse and one linen facility is now 95% complete. We know this will streamline all of our processes to guarantee the best quality products and superior service. We have had our share of growing pains this year and we appreciate your patience and truly welcome your feed back. We are constantly trying to evolve and bring our ever expanding product line and services to a higher level.

Thank you to all of our loyal customers and new friends for your business! Don't forget to call us or visit one of our seven showrooms and see how we can "make things happen"!

2010 Show LogosTrade Shows, Contests, and Seminars - Oh My!

Rentals Unlimited is thrilled to be taking part in several exciting and challenging trade shows, table top competitions, seminars, and classes this coming Winter.

The fun begins at The Special Event Conference and Tradeshow happening January 25th - 28th in Phoenix, Arizona. This year, we will be participating in the renowned Wedding Luncheon Gallery; designing a dream wedding and filling a whole room with new ideas.  We were so proud and humbled to have won the Tabletop Competition last year (click here to read the full story in case you missed it) in the category "Tabletops with a Budget Over $1,000". We look forward to seeing all of the inspiring tabletops that will come out of this year's competition.

From there it is on to fabulous Las Vegas, NV from February 27th to March 2nd for the Catersource and Event Solutions Conference and Trade Show at the brand new Cosmopolitan. Rentals Unlimited is excited to be participating in the Tabletop Contest which will be judged by conference attendees and the Catersource Advisory Board. We will also be hosting a class this year, so be sure to register early! "4 Events and A Budget" will focus on how to make one budget work for four entirely different types of events. There may be a second class added to the schedule, as well so please stay tuned for more details!

Watch out Vegas, here we come!  We will also have staff attending the American Rental Association's The Rental Show from February 27th to March 2nd at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.  Here we will attend classes to learn all about the latest and greatest rental products, policies, and discover new trends and ideas for the special events industry.

Where did the summer go? Daveed is exhausted from the season but excited about the possible products he has been scouting out for 2011. We have spent a major amount of time reviewing our linen inventory and did a major house cleaning... out with the old so there is room for the new 2011 linens! We are also reviewing our china and porcelain lines to keep things fresh and exciting for the new year.

The $1,000,000 question is what the hot special color will be for 2011 in the Special Event Industry.  I have searched, I have Googled, I have thumbed through those fashion magazines (trust me on this - those models need to eat a hamburger or two!), and reviewed the home dcor magazines.  This is my prediction: purples and plums will still be hot, and deeper grey will become more popular.  Another color that I am seeing a lot is red. I am not sure if reds will creep into the special event market (especially the wedding market), but I did get some great red rectangular chargers in anticipation!

I was just at the New York International Gift Show and saw a lot of wheat and sepia tones in new products, with a lot of different textures being used.  Several companies were showing very classic lines of furniture (think Louie the 14th) that was made out of rough, unfinished, distressed wood and upholstered with very textural fabrics in neutral tones. There were lots and lots of textures in fabric, products and even packaging.  But - and there is always a but - some companies were showing these same classic lines in very slick and sleek, high-gloss whites, blacks and acrylics.  A few companies were also showing a lot of 1940's and 50's era vintage type reproductions, reminding me of items my mother received as wedding gifts. Is this an upcoming trend? What does it all mean? Well, I am hoping someone tells me. Until then, be sure to check out our featured products!

Jay Torrice
comes to Rentals Unlimited as a part of the former Festive Occasions team. Jay will be continuing his previous responsibilities in addition to some new ones as our Operations Manager. Jay will be overseeing the packing and shipping of orders, as well as many of the day to day needs of our warehouse. He is excited to be continuing with the team and knows his previous experience and customer interaction will be a great asset for the team.

John Gill is the new Dispatch Manager for the Rentals Unlimited fleet. He comes to us from the Festive Occasions team, where he worked for a mere 6 weeks before making the switch with the other employees to RU. Before that, John worked for seven years as Dispatch Manager for International Paper. He has been working in logistics and dispatching for 10 years all together, and hopes his experience will benefit him here. We also want to say congratulations to John on his upcoming wedding! He will be getting married in September of 2011 at the Ocean View in Gloucester.

We also wish a very special congratulations to Jenna Amara
and her husband who are expecting their second child!
