Dear JA Supporters,

Summertime is in full swing, but that does not mean learning has to stop.

JA BizTown Summer Camp will be hosting over 100 students during the weeks of June 28-July 2 and July 12-16. Kids ages 10-13 will benefit from the full JA BizTown experience during the week-long camps. The registration deadline is June 25.  Sign your child(ren) up today!

JA also offers a variety of online resources to keep your kids engaged while they are not in the classroom. Teens can explore the workforce and get ready for college in the JA Student Center, while parents can find ways to make learning fun for their children with these parent materials.

I wish you all a pleasant summer. Let's keep doing our part to prepare our kids to succeed in school and in life, even while we're on vacation!

Sincerely,

Trent

Opportunities for Education
You Did It!

Thanks to our many loyal JA volunteers and teachers, we reached nearly 30,000 students through JA programs during the 2009-10 school year--exceeding our overall goal by 2,000 students!  The past school year was also a year of "firsts" as we provided new student experiences through several initiatives:
  • Successful Job Shadow Pilot with Metro Nashville Public School Career Academies.
  • First Annual JA Titan Business Challenge at Caterpillar Financial on March 27th.
  • First Middle School JA in a Day at Oliver Middle School on May 14th.
  • High School programs increased by 11% from last year.
Thank you for your support!  We look forward to collaborating with you next year.

Be Green--Save Green
Recycle those JA kit pieces!

Did you know we were able to save over $10,000 in kit costs this year?  By recycling the unused materials in your JA kit, we are able to rebuild kits for use throughout the school year.  We encourage you to recycle your leftovers!  Please drop your JA kits off at our office, located at 120 Powell Place, Nashville, TN 37204.  We are open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday.

Thank you for helping us be green!
