Photo Contest | |
Facebook voting opens May 15
| |
Linda Pritchard had the grand-prize-winning photo from our 2011 photo contest. |
Over 200 photos were submitted for our annual photo contest. We are currently in the process of reviewing the photos to choose finalists.
This year there will be three components to the judging, each contributing one-third of the total score. We will post the photos chosen as finalists on our Facebook page and let our fans vote for their favorites by "liking" them. The Facebook voting will constitute one-third of the final score. The Ephraim Pottery staff will vote on their favorites for another third of the total score. An impartial judge from the Lake Mills business community will contribute the final third of the score.
The finalists will be posted on our Facebook page by the end of the day on Tuesday, May 15. Facebook voting will be open through Thursday, May 31.
The winners will be announced on Facebook on Friday, June 15.
The winning photographs will appear in the 2013 Ephraim Faience Pottery Collectors' Calendar and the photographers will receive EFP gift certificates.
See our website for complete rules and contest information.

Greetings! ,
Welcome to the latest issue of News & Notes. It's May, and spring is in full bloom. The warmer weather reminds us that a new show season is about to start. June brings two shows and new showpieces. Our schedule is shown in the sidebar at left, and you can read the article below to learn more our new showpieces.
At this time of year, we're always busy putting the final touches on our new catalog and this year is no exception. More new pottery and tile will go on ephraimpottery.com at the end of this month. Look for a new catalog in your mailbox in early June. Thank you for your interest in Ephraim Pottery, and enjoy these glorious spring days!
Sincerely, Kristin Cramer for Ephraim Pottery |

Artist Anniversary Series + 5 more pieces to retire
Ordering deadline is Friday, June 1 at 5 p.m. CDT

Artist Anniversary Series vases retiring June 1: Rocky Mountain Columbine, Indian Summer, and Take Flight |
There are several pieces that will be retiring on June 1. The year is up for the Artist Anniversary Series pieces that we introduced in 2011. The pieces that will be retired include Becky Hansen's 5th year Rocky Mountain Columbine vase and tile (not pictured); John Raymond's 10th anniversary Indian Summer vase and tile (not pictured); and Kevin Hicks' 15th anniversary Take Flight vase. These special anniversaries only come around once in an artist's career. Artist Anniversary vases are only offered for a year and are specially marked. The tiles have only been available for a short time, having just been introduced in January. Because they are only offered for a limited time, pieces in the Artist Anniversary Series finish their editions with relatively low numbers. For these reasons, we expect Artist Anniversary Series pieces to be especially collectible in the future.

Retiring June 1 are Night Flight, Summer's Delight, Spirit of the Prairie, Moonlit Orchid, and Wispy Wheat |
As we announced last month, this year we will be retiring small groups of pieces every other month through the end of 2012. Here is the first small group of pieces to be retired. The ordering deadline for these pieces will be 5:00 p.m. CDT on Friday, June, 1, the same as for the Artist Anniversary Series pieces.
You can order easily, quickly, and securely in our online store - click here to shop. If you prefer, you may call in your order between 9:00 and 5:00 Monday through Friday. Our toll-free number is 1-888-704-POTS (7687). Whichever way you choose to place your order, make sure you don't miss the deadline! |

Quick Clicks for May online now | | A dozen seconds and irregulars featured this month
| | Some of this month's featured items |
This month's Quick Clicks is now online. A dozen items are available: 6 irregulars and 6 seconds. The issues that caused these pieces to be classifed as seconds or irregulars are fairly minor, so this is a fantastic opportunity to get a beautiful piece at a great price.
Remember, if you miss out this month or if you don't happen to be interested in seconds and irregulars, there's always next month! We try to vary the types of items we post in Quick Clicks in order to cover a range of customer interests. Please check your emailed issue of News & Notes next month for more Quick Clicks items.

June shows first to feature new showpieces
Different pieces to be featured at each show

As we announced last month, w e're heading in a new direction this year when it comes to shows, showpieces, and experimentals.
Beginning with Arts & Crafts Chicago on June 2, we will be offering a different showpiece at each of the shows listed on the schedule shown in the sidebar (above left). What will the showpieces for the June shows be? You'll have to come to the shows to find out!
You can read more about the new showpiece concept on our website. Also, please note that we will not be featuring experimentals at the shows listed on the schedule. If you missed the announcement in last month's email, you can read an archived copy of the article here. Scroll down to the article titled "New shows, showpieces and experimentals." If you have any questions, please contact us.
We look forward to seeing many of you in June! |
