_____________________________________________________________________________ Super Bowl, Super Beer
Sunday's the Super Bowl, an American institution during which living-room celebrations can reach the same fever pitch as the stadium itself. Are you hosting a party? The Sierra Club suggests you serve green beer!
Beer's a basic staple for football fans, so why not pick a bottle made with the environment in mind? There are many responsible brewers that make delicious ales from organic ingredients, get their energy from solar power, or use spent grain to feed livestock. If you're into buying locally, find and support a nearby craft brewer. Cheers!

What to do with Phone Books
In the internet age, getting a phone book tossed onto your doorstep can be infuriating. But before you recycle yours, consider what else you could do with it. Consider ripping out the pages and using them to clean windows and mirrors. Crumpled-up pages can also serve as filler for care packages. If your cleaning and mailing needs can't keep up with how often you get phone books, just tell the Yellow Pages to stop.

Moving Outdoors in Nature Acts Gains Momentum
As the 112th Congress convened in Washington, DC, this month, the National Wildlife Federation, Outdoors Alliance for Kids and other partners are working hard to get the Moving Outdoors in Nature Act reintroduced. As of today, 218 national, state and local organizations, including the Audubon Society of Rhode Island, representing tens of millions of members, have signed the letter of support that will be sent to Congress once the bill is re-introduced in the House and introduced in the Senate. The Moving Outdoors in Nature Act will improve our children's health, support economic growth and strengthen the future of conservation in America by reconnecting our children, youth and families with the natural world through innovative state strategies that connect communities with green spaces, provide opportunities for outdoor recreation, and engage the health community in educating parents and caregivers.
