Miele Vacuums Receive the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval!
Anything Else is a Compromise
Did you hear the news? Miele vacuums have  received the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. This is a great honor, which not only reflects the quality that Miele is known for, but for an outside company like Good Housekeeping to back their approval with a warranty of their own, this tells you alot about Miele.

We've known it all the long. We could tell you how great the Miele vacuums are, but you might think that we are just trying to make a sale. You're right, we want to sell you a vacuum, but we also want you to be happy with your purchase. We are confident that when you buy a Miele, you'll see why their slogan, "Anything Else is a Compromise" rings true, just like Good Housekeeping saw.

Consider This When Buying a New Vacuum

There are a few things to consider when buying a new vacuum. Review these 5 points before starting.
  1. Bare floors, carpet or both
  2. Stairs
  3. Weight
  4. Pets or allergies
  5. Canister or upright
By answering these few questions, you can determine what your needs and wants are in a vacuum.
  1. If you just have bare floors, a straight suction vacuum will work fine. If you have carpets or rugs, a vibrating brush is needed.  It takes the vibration of a rotating brush to work the dirt out of the carpets or rugs. If you have both carpet and hard floor surfaces, a canister makes the transition between the two types the easiest.  Dirt, pet hair, etc is elusive on a hard surface because you don't have the carpet holding the dirt while you attempt to vacuum it up. Also, air currents move the material away from the vacuum. On a hard surface, the tool used is most important.  A horse hair brush attachment or dust up floor tool works best.
  2. Having stairs will decide 2 things - not too heavy and a hose with attachments. Check out the Mighty Mite
  3. Weight requirements are determined mainly by your preference. Do you have a bad back? Do you have to carry it up or down stairs?
  4. If you have pets or allergies, a vacuum with good filtration is advantageous. HEPA filtration is recommended.
  5. Most people have a preference for either a canister or upright vacuum. Canister vacuums transition between floor types the easiest. Upright vacuums are less expensive and cumbersome. They are best suited for carpet only homes. If you do use an upright to do hard floors, make sure you have one that has the option to shut the brushroll off when you move from the carpet to the hard floor. The turning brushroll tends to throw the material away from the vacuum before the suction can pull it in.

If you have anymore questions or concerns about what type of vacuum would suit your needs the best, please contact us. We'd be glad to answer any questions you might have.

Royal Gorge Railroad

A Great Christmas Tradition
Christmas traditions are important, especially for the kids. At the Royal Gorge in Canon City, CO there is a tradition that I would recommend starting. Take the kids on a train ride through the Royal Gorge, have hot chocolate and listen to stories told by Santa's elves, and wait the arrival of Santa to board the train at the North Pole. The kids are even encouraged to wear their pajamas. The whole experience just reaks of Christmas tradition.
