Resilient Communities Initiative
The Community Resilience Toolkit 2.0 is a collection of online tools to help you understand local impacts of the climate and energy crisis in your region and what you can do about them. The tools are for individuals, community groups, teachers, and municipal planners. They come with easy instructions to facilitate community resilience workshops.

Climate Justice In The San Diego Region Our Recent Endeavors Professor Barry Schultz, UC San Diego at the Center for Urban Economics and Design and Christina Gonzales, Lead Organizer at Justice Overcoming Boundaries (JOB) in San Diego met with Paloma Pavel from Breakthrough Communities for recent updates in the San Diego region on social equity and climate change. Barry Schultz expressed interest in a statewide network of university community partners and the power of field based learning in building economic opportunity in Barrio Logan. JOB's current campaigns include transportation and immigration issues in North County. Barry and Christina have provided sections in the forthcoming publication: Climate Justice Frontline Stories from Groundbreaking Coalitions in California. Director of the Center for Civic Engagement at the San Diego Foundation, Nicola Hedge shared new work emerging in civic engagement in the regional comprehensive planning process.

Strategic Planning Retreat
The UC Davis Center for Regional Change (CRC) Breakthrough Communities Paloma Pavel and Carl Anthony visiting faculty at UC Davis,The CRC produces innovative research to create healthy, sustainable, prosperous, and equitable regional change. Professor Chris Benner in collaboration with community organizer Kendra Bridges provided a regional perspective on Sacramento and Professor Jonathan London in collaboration with Veronica Garibay provides a viewpoint on the San Joaquin Valley Region in the Breakthrough Communities forthcoming publication: Climate Justice Frontline Stories from Groundbreaking Coalitions in California.
Breakthrough Communities looks forward to joining Chris, Jonathan and others at the landmark strategic planning retreat on April 22nd-23rd.
