NISO Scholarships Week

September 22-26, 2014

A bundled week of information sessions on many of the distinguished awards NISO coordinates and how to secure our campus endorsement. Apply now as an undergraduate. Reward your STEM research with a Goldwater or Astronaut Scholarship; finance your study of a language abroad with a Boren or Gilman Scholarship; jumpstart your career in the environment or Native American tribal policy with a Udall Scholarship; go to graduate school for the arts, humanities or social sciences on a Beinecke Scholarship; or bring your commitment as a leader for change, no matter your discipline, to graduate school with a Truman Scholarship.

Goldwater Scholarship &

Astronaut Scholarship Info Sessions

Sept 24, 4:30pm ME 2004, or Sept 25, 6:30pm STEW 320

Conducting research as a sophomore or junior - maybe as a freshman? Fantastic GPA? That's amazing. With Goldwater Scholarships, the U.S. government encourages STEM students who plan to continue in a research career. Those students who are Goldwater candidates should also take a close look at applying for the Astronaut Scholarship (not just for rocket scientists, but for all STEM) as juniors. Purdue is a one of a handful of schools in the Astronaut Scholarship competition. We're holding combined info sessions for both scholarships.

Boren Scholars have a national security bent and desire to work in the federal government for at least one year after graduation.

Engagement with the environment can take many forms: policy, engineering, science, education, urban planning and renewal, business, health, justice, economics, sports such as hunting and other related fields. The most important factor is that you take action in your area. The Native American Scholarship relates to most any area of tribal involvement.
