Dear Friends,

as the year unfolds, we are very excited to share with you our news and prospects for the rest of the year. This year we will be inaugurating the new School in Azrou, Morocco, for over 40 students, and completing a new section of the Foundation's Secondary School in Burkina Faso which will allow to have two classes per grade level. In Thailand, under the vision and leadership of our new Country Manager, Giovanni Santavicca, we will be implementing agriculture and income generation projects in more villages on the road to self sustainability, and we will be registering the Foundation in Thailand. Thanks again to our Singapore Chapter team, sponsors, and supporters, which managed to raise 136,041 SGD in 2013, and to our Milan Chapter team, led by Margaret Dragone, which raised over 21,000 Euros at our Inaugural Event.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us reach out to more children in need!

Sincerely

Pistorio Foundation

Olympic and World Champion Sprint Canoeist, Antonio Rossi, becomes Foundation Ambassador

We are deeply honored to have Italian Canoeist Champion Antonio Rossi as a Foundation Ambassador. Antonio Rossi is also President of the European Athletes Commission, Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, and UNICEF Ambassador. The Foundation is very grateful for Anotnio's support whose philanthropic commitments and values we share and applaud.

News from the Chiang Rai Village Project
The Foundation was honored and grateful to have Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visit our school in Huay Kuk village.

Elena Pistorio, Board Member and Director, and Country Manager Giovanni Santavicca, greeted the Princess at the school and illustrated the Foundation's projects in Thailand. It was a wonderful opportunity for exposure for the Foundation and the visit was televised in the evening on all national Thai TV Channels. We look forward to the graduation of 35 students from the three year professional school program in mid March.

Intel Involved team from Singapore
English and Computer
Volunteer Camp and Fundraiser in October 2013

We would like to thank whole heartedly the Singapore Intel Involved staff that brought six highly motivated and committed volunteers, Sheryl Teo (Team Leader), Andy Low, Vicky Lin, Ho Soo Pine, Peggy Khoo (Intel) and Molly Loh (Lions Club of Singapore Aces), to conduct a four day full immersion English language and computer program to over 230 children from primary to secondary school. The camp also included after school sports, games, and arts and crafts activities, all prepared by the volunteers. The volunteers also helped distribute donated children's toys and books from Intel staff in Singapore. The volunteers travelled to the hill-tribe village of Mae Pon, Chiang Mai, where the Foundation has contributed in building a Primary School and renovated a former primary school into Secondary School.

The team also raised funds for the Foundation amongst their staff and reached their target of 25,500 SGD to support the 180 children on Foundation scholarships in Mae Pon Village.

Here are some accounts of the trip in their own words:  "It is amazing to see the children participate enthusiastically with high level of energy. We were completely drained by the end of each day, as we ran from class to class in the day and spent our late evening planning for lessons for the next day. However, our effort paid off when we saw how the children progressed from being "very shy and not using any English at all" to be able to "confidently screaming their answers in English to every of our questions "...The children benefited from full exposure to the immersion of the English language through the relevant topics and activities we conducted. They also became more confident at their computers and were able to grasp key digital concepts and usages." Peggy Khoo

"Our donation of 300S$ per year per child does go a long way to supplement the needs of these children at the school" Ho Soo Pine

"..I only see smiles and eagerness to learn whenever we interact with these children. I'm happy to see our donation is going to the right place where indeed our help is needed." Vicky Lin.
