Greetings!
Ice, Snow, Sleet, Rain...SPRING! I'm so happy warmer weather is right around the corner! Soon grass and trees will be bright green, wild flowers will magically spring up along roadways and life is renewed. Spring brings a fresh start to life. It is full of new beginnings and endless possibilities. We have exciting things to share with you. Please take a few minutes to check out what is happening at the Child & Family Guidance Center.

Welcome New Board Members
The Child & Family Guidance Center Board is comprised of an amazing group of community leaders who govern, advocate, support and promote the services of the Center.
At the January 8th Annual Meeting the following new members were sworn in for a three year term: Jon Rains, Marty Sanderson and Stacee Sloan-Caskey Welcome aboard!
The 2015 Board will be led by the following officers: Tim Blalock, president, April Donvan, president elect, Twila Crick, secretary, Joe Fallon, past president and Harold Rogers, treasurer (not pictured). Jana Endler is outgoing treasurer who served 4 years. We are in good hands!

New Mental Health Resource Website for Texans
Speak Your Mind Texas
to provide information, resources and direction to Texas residents who may have mental health related needs or who want to support someone who does. Please share and encourage others to share this website with members of the general public who may be learning about or experiencing challenges related to mental health and substance abuse for the first time.

Please join us at the Texoma Builders Home & Garden Show on March 21 & 22nd at the Hilton Garden Inn Texoma Event Center in Denison. We will be there Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm at our booth and helping with ticket sales. It's going to be bigger and better than ever. Don't miss it! Admission $5.00 per person. Children under 12 and adults over 65 are FREE. Proceeds benefiting the Center. Thank you Home Builders Association of Grayson, Fannin & Cooke Counties for supporting us.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month
Join us in helping educate the community about child abuse and how together we can prevent innocent children from being harmed.
The color BLUE Is symbolic with this critical cause. Please wear blue in April to show your support.
To report child abuse, call the Child Protective Services Hotline at 1-800-252-5400.
We wish to extend sincere appreciation to law enforcement, our judicial system, local physicians, Child Protective Services, Children's Advocacy Centers, CASA, Crisis Center and NTYC for their tireless work and service to protect children.
Each of us can make a difference in keeping children safe. Please join us as we strive to increase community awareness of the reality of child abuse and ways we can prevent it.

Wilson N. Jones Community Foundation Awards CFGC Grant

The 4th Annual Starfish Benefit is Saturday, September 26th. Join us!
Exciting plans are underway for the 4th Annual Starfish Benefit on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Sherman Municipal Ballroom from 7 to 10 pm.
Please mark your calendar for this unique and beautiful event that raises much needed funds to provide mental healthcare to low income Texoma children and families.
Last year's event was a great success! Our live auction was over the top with 10 exciting travel and unique packages. Tom & Melida Ailshire were the winning bidders of the New York State of Mind package. Melida shared this great photo of them at a Broadway Play in New York City in December. Melida reported the trip was amazing and a phenomenal adventure! Thanks Tom & Melida for supporting CFGC!

Presco Products located in Sherman Texas has helped the Center is so many ways throughout the years. They have generously donated money, supplies for our office and clients and prizes for our annual Starfish Benefit that helps us raise funds for direct program services.
President of Presco Products, Chris Pendergrass served on the CFGC board from 2010-2012 demonstrating exemplary leadership and advocacy for our cause. Chris leads by example, encouraging his employees to be involved in the community and give back.
