Spring is full of new beginnings and endless possibilities. We have exciting things to share with you. Please take a few minutes to check out what is happening at the Child & Family Guidance Center.

Caring for our Clients is what WE DO!
Early in 2014 CFGC implemented the CARE CALL Program. Our therapists take the extra step to call new clients who fail to attend their first scheduled appointment and all active clients who fail to call to cancel a scheduled appointment. This advanced level of care is making a BIG difference to our clients. Clients are thankful for the call. It shows how much they are cared for.
Client Quote:
"The atmosphere in the center is amazing! It's a warm, nurturing and loving environment. My daughter and I are blessed to be working with our therapist who clearly is called to this work. Thank you!"

THANK YOU...Operation Warm Fuzzy Blanket Project Volunteers!
Thanks to wonderful volunteers each new child treated at CFGC receives a soft, cuddly OWF blanket of their choosing. This special gift helps them start the process of healing and moving forward. They feel special and cared for. This program would not be possible without the generous donations of funds, fleece and hours spent by volunteers making the blankets. The project was founded in 2004 by 16 year old Sarah Fallon who wanted to help disadvantaged children. 10 years later the project is still going strong and greatly needed.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month
Last year:
- 231 Texas children died because of abuse or neglect at the hands of their parents or guardians.
- 65,948 children were confirmed victims of abuse or neglect.
- 17,108 children were removed from their homes because of abuse or neglect
To report child abuse, call the Child Protective Services Hotline at 1-800-252-5400.
We wish to extend sincere appreciation to law enforcement, our judicial system, local physicians, Child Protective Services, Children's Advocacy Centers, CASA, Crisis Center and NTYC for their tireless work and service to protect children.
Each of us can make a difference in keeping children safe. Please join us as we strive to increase community awareness of the reality of child abuse and ways we can prevent it.
