It happened again, just as it does almost every month. A new patient entered my practice and was unhappy with their last dental visit. At their last visit they were told they needed "eight fillings." That plan did not seem feasible to her; she had been seeing the same dentist for years in the Midwest. When all was said and done, my exam revealed only one cavity...one filling.
We see this too often. Sometimes I get angry; there are times when I sense patients are simply being taken advantage of. Yes, there are really good dentists out there but they are getting more difficult to find.
In my practice I tend towards conservatism. We will treat that which needs to be treated, and we will recommend some preventive procedures to prevent the expense of time and money over time. This is how I would want to be treated. So, why should our care for you be any different?
We do save patients money over time. We save them time in the dental chair. We save them from unnecessary dental work. Our loving God did an amazing job creating our teeth. There is no need for man-made intervention unless it is indeed necessary.
We thank you for your kindly trusting us. We do very much care.
