We all have seen to some degree how the delivery of medical and dental care has changed. With the changes in the insurance industry, with Obamacare, and with the differing business models that exist in delivering care, times have most definitely changed. The emphasis has changed. No longer is the quality of care the primary focus. The primary focus has changed to increasing access to care, decreasing costs, increasing the number of patients seen per hour, and shifting health care responsibilities to lower paid staff. While all these may be important, the relative importance of quality of care and service has decreased significantly. That is where we enter the discussion. Dr. Venincasa sees there is still a need for the more traditional dental practice that does focus on quality, that does focus on service, and that does focus on the individual patient. We realize we are like salmon swimming upstream. However, we know that what we deliver these days is unique, it is valued, and it is needed. We thank you for making it possible to maintain a more traditional family dental practice that is privately owned and operated by one dentist.
