"What the Census Says: Verifying 19th-Century Birthing of Sallie (Campbell) Driver" presented by Janis Minor Forté

Genealogy involves identifying the birth of all ancestors regardless of their life length. Prior to the early 20th century's mandated birth registrations, this task might appear to have been impossible. Using a variety of record sources combined with oral testimony, this lecture presents a 'how to' problem-solving strategy to validate the 16 children of Forté's great grandmother, Sallie (Campbell) Driver. The strategies presented provide a useful technique to assure that all family compositions are not missing kin.
