Mission of the Month:
International Leader in Cameroon
Nathalie Lassang from Cameroon feels called to become a doctor to provide care for the sick in her home country. She's  attending medical school with the help of an ELCA International Leaders scholarship, which she calls "a priceless gift." Share this story with your congregation!

 Volunteer for ELCA Youth Gathering Volunteer Registration for the 2015 ELCA Youth Gathering in Detroit is now open. Those who are interested in serving as volunteers as our Lutheran youth gather for Bible study, worship, service, learning, fellowship, and pray, are encouraged to register.

Love Like Jesus: Washed by the Spirit
 Love Like Jesus June 19-22, 2014 Grand View University Love Like Jesus Welcomes: Agape: AGAPE is a hip hop artist who combines dancing, rap and storytelling to spread the message of God's love through Christ. He has a passion for young people and for helping them realize their worth and see themselves through Jesus' eyes.
Jonathan Swenson, Performing "Witnesses": Jonathan Swenson, an ordained Lutheran pastor, has been performing community and professional theatre his entire life. During the summer of 2010 he launched Paraphrase Theatre - a faith-based theatre company in Cedar Rapids, IA. "Witnesses" will leave you with a greater sense of God's heartbeat for you.

 LSI's Ice Cream Social On Sunday, July 20, LSI's Bremwood Campus in Waverly will host an Ice Cream Social to mark the 150th anniversary of Lutheran Services in Iowa and we hope you will come and join us! The event will begin with devotions at 2 p.m., with ice cream, cake and festivities to follow at 2:30. The program will include time to browse a historical display, guest speakers, anniversary video and, of course, great fellowship. There is no cost to attend. Ice cream is being donated by Blue Bunny and volunteers will be providing homemade cake or pie. |
