Love Like Jesus: Washed by the Spirit
 Love Like Jesus June 19-22, 2014 Grand View University Love Like Jesus Welcomes: Agape: AGAPE is a hip hop artist who combines dancing, rap and storytelling to spread the message of God's love through Christ. He has a passion for young people and for helping them realize their worth and see themselves through Jesus' eyes.
Jonathan Swenson, Performing "Witnesses": Jonathan Swenson, an ordained Lutheran pastor, has been performing community and professional theatre his entire life. During the summer of 2010 he launched Paraphrase Theatre - a faith-based theatre company in Cedar Rapids, IA. "Witnesses" will leave you with a greater sense of God's heartbeat for you.

Assembly Offering
Offering collected at assembly will be designated to the Fund for Leaders and the Pare Diocese Guest House Project. Congregations are invited to collect an offering that is brought to assembly on behalf of their faith communities. Child Care
Child care will be provided during the daytime business sessions of the assembly on Friday, 9:00 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, 8:00 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Iowa City. Lots of fun and faith based games and activities are planned with supervision provided by a second career Child Development graduate student at the U of I, and high school students from Christ the King. For younger children, please bring a Pack N Play, bottles, and baby food if needed. For older children, age appropriate games and books are encouraged. Lunch (sandwiches, fruit, and milk) and snacks will be provided.

Buck-a-Chick a Success
Throughout the season of Lent (and March Madness), St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Urbandale was filled with paper chicks--colored cardinal and gold, black and gold, and a few others!-- as part of ELCA's World Hunger project. For each of the 419 paper chicks purchased by members and friends, a family living in poverty around the world receives the real thing. Soon, those chicks will begin to produce eggs for nutritious, protein-rich meals, and be sold at the marketplace for income - helping a family escape hunger for good. "People of all ages got involved in the effort," says Pastor Dan Kuckuck. "It's such important work, and this was an easy way to make a big impact."

Life Touch will be taking photos of rostered leaders for the Southeastern Iowa Synod directory. Each rostered leader that has their picture taken will receive a free 8X10 or sheet of wallets, plus a directory.

EQ-HR Workshop
This core EQ HR Center workshop is an intensive session designed to enable participants to learn about, build and practice emotional intelligence skills in a small group setting. Skilled facilitators provide tools and feedback to enable participants to learn about themselves and to immediately practice emerging skills.
