Resolution Information for 2013 Synod Assembly

One avenue of access for congregations, conferences, synod organizational units and voting members to address issues and propose a plan for action is the resolution. Resolutions help organize the work of the assembly by clarifying important issues or concerns. Resolutions are first reviewed by the reference and counsel committee, which will make recommendations to the assembly to facilitate its work, but the resolutions belong to the assembly and may be amended, rejected,  or adopted after consideration by the voting members. Resolutions may be submitted until 45 days prior to the first day the assembly meets.  For the 2013 Synod Assembly, resolutions must be in the synod office by April 16, 2013. Please send resolutions to:

2013 Ecumenical Advocacy Days: April 5-8, 2013
Crystal City, Virginia & Washington, D.C.

Ecumenical Advocacy Days is a movement of the ecumenical Christian community and its recognized partners and allies to strengthen our Christian voice and to mobilize for advocacy on important policy issues.

This year's theme, "At God's Table," explores injustices in global food systems that leave one billion people hungry, create food price shocks that destabilize communities everywhere, and undermine God's creation. Together we will seek the abundance and equality that we find reflected in the biblical image of God's great banquet table (Exodus 16:16-18 and Luke 14:12-24).

The ELCA Washington Office is offering a limited number of scholarships, which will cover the cost of transportation, hotel accommodations, and conference registration.  Click here to complete your application now. The deadline to apply is Monday, Feb. 4 - act soon!
