Lutheran Day on the Hill: March 11, 2013
 Lutheran Day on the Hill, jointly sponsored by the three ELCA synods in Iowa and Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI), will be Monday, March 11, 2013. Details about this event and registration will be forthcoming in early January, but you are encouraged to save this date and to join with other Lutherans from around the state to visit with legislators about the needs of the most vulnerable among us. This synod's Commission for Church in Society has committed itself to sponsoring a BUS (no vans this year!) originating in Iowa City which will transport participants from the eastern part of the synod to Des Moines - no need to worry about traffic or parking. Past participants have appreciated this opportunity to visit with elected leaders in this way. Share this information with members of your congregation and make plans now to attend. |

The Seminary Sampler is a three-day visit event designed to give prospective students a "taste" of LSTC life. Here, they will have the opportunity to discern with other prospective students a call to ministry and how. Information given will include meeting students, faculty and staff, an introduction to our programs, a tour of LSTC and the surrounding neighborhood, possibilities for financial assistance, and much more.
