Pumpkin Fundraiser Exceeds Expectations Doreen Blackmer, member of Palestine Lutheran Church in Huxley, IA
Earlier this fall, the people of Palestine Lutheran Church in Huxley, Iowa were looking for a project to raise money for the high school youth group (called R.O.C.K. for Reaching Out for Christ's Kingdom) to use for mission trips and service projects. Little did they know, the project they ultimately undertook would raise more than two times their goal of $2500 and involve congregation members ranging in age from three to over eighty.

One Year to Live Retreat: January 11-13, 2013 at Luther Park in Chetek, WI The One Year to Live (OYTL) experience is where hearts and souls can be strengthened by the call of Christ. OYTL is an opportunity for men to explore the difference their Christian faith can make in their lives as they relate to others in their families, church, work and communities. Over 200 men have attended OYTL's in Wisconsin since 2009. Many have found it to be a spiritual and life impacting experience, different from any other retreats or conferences they have attended.
It is sponsored by Lutheran Men in Mission. Video testimonies, promotional, scholarship and registration information are available at www.lutheranmen.org Events/One Year to Live page. Space is limited. Register ASAP to ensure your spot. The $175 registration fee includes lodging, meals and retreat materials. Commitment to attend from Friday 5:30pm to closing on Sunday at 3:00pm is required. For more information, please contact Kurt Larson 715-497-6161, larsonku@uwstout.edu.
