YOUR TOLL DOLLARS AT WORK
Work on this project is approaching the halfway mark. Crews are working to widen 528, build the new ramp plazas and rebate gantries and place a new screen wall.
The demolition of the plaza is scheduled to begin near the end of 2015, and the entire project is expected to be completed by summer 2016.

Spread the word! E-PASS customers who pay 20 or more tolls per month on CFX's portions of the beltway (417, 429 and 414) now receive a 5% discount on those transactions. That adds up to about one day of free beltway tolls per week.
These savings will be in effect during the next 6 years of I-4 Ultimate construction. With both beltway and volume discounts, we expect to give an estimated $16 million back to our customers this fiscal year! Check out CFXsolution.com to learn why life is better on the beltway!

Because of changes to technology, some E-PASS transponders will soon become obsolete. Those affected are white, plastic, battery powered devices issued before November 2013 (as shown below).
At no charge, you can swap your old E-PASS for a smaller portable transponder or mini-sticker. If your E-PASS is affected, you will be contacted with instructions.

Q: Can CFX tolls pay for transit?
A: The legislation that created CFX (SB 230) allows us to consider multimodal transportation within our right-of-way when it benefits our customers and improves the level of service on our system. In the fall, the CFX board will be discussing our role with transit. We want your feedback on this issue. Have your voice heard by taking our CFX Visioning + 2040 Master Plan Survey.
At our August meeting, the board will take the input we've collected in this survey and from community outreach to form an official vision statement for the agency.

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT
Varda works as a toll attendant and acting toll supervisor at the 528 Beachline Mainline Plaza. A native of Haiti, Varda has been with us for 8 years and was named the 2012 Employee of the Year.
What do you like about working at the toll plaza? My team is like my family, which is something I haven't experienced in my previous jobs. I always feel appreciated for my hard work.
On average, how many cars come through your lane every day? I help about 2,000 customers a day.
What's the most important part of your job? I want to make sure the customer has a positive experience during their travels, one that makes them feel welcomed back. People often tell me that my smile is the coffee that wakes them up in the morning! Being able to speak Creole and French allows me to interact with many visitors that come through our plaza. I was very humbled when a visitor from New York sent in a three-page letter about how I brightened his day while he was in town for a funeral.
